How far in advance?
I was just wondering how far in advance most people book certain vendors- officiant, florist, order dress, band? My wedding isn't until September 2015 and I feel like it's too early, but at the same time I don't want to miss out on a vendor we like because we waited too long.

I think it's never too early - it gives you time to shop around and compare pricing. Plus, better to book with 2014 prices since they will most likely go up next year.most popular, affordable vendors are booked way in advance so you may want to do it now just for the sake of making sure your date is available.

How far in advance?
We are getting married in Nov 2015 - but we secured our venue in February and hope to do the flowers, music, and photographer this summer. I plan on starting dress shopping in the fall. Even though were not getting married for 585 days (but who's counting lol) we wanted to do it sooner so we could 1. begin to pay for them and 2. make sure we get who we want

Take some time and research who you want to meet with and plan a budget. I'm getting married November 2015 and I have venue, church, photographer, videographer and DJ already booked. We didn't intend to book so early, but we liked what we saw and now we can save accordingly

My wedding is actually the day before yours and we have pretty much everything booked. A few vendors I spoke with were saying they already have several dates in September 2015 completely booked solid!

How far in advance?
I am a 2016 brides so I have 858 days to go lol. We booked our venue in March and are booking our photographer within the next few weeks. But after that, I'm in no rush. The great thing about getting things done early is getting the best price and getting what you want when you want it. We will be able to have a very in-demand photographer because we are booking so early AND they said they will be starting to charge a surcharge for him soon, so were saving on that. I think it's never too early, but I'm someone who booked my venue 888 days in advance lol. But there were dates in 2016 booked so you never know! Good luck!

I booked my florist and bought my dress a year and a half before the wedding. I also bought my wedding band last month. never too early!

i booked the venue like 15 months out, and booked everything else at just about the 1 year mark, some slightly earlier... I would say to just start looking around and getting an idea of what you like, and then book in the summertime :)

We booked our venue 16 months before. We did DJ and photographer/videographer 14 months before. We knew who we wanted to use after meeting with a few and decided not to wait since our date was available.

We are getting married in April 2015 and we booked most of the major vendors in August/September of 2014. You'd be surprised how fast they book up! You will also get better pricing because it usually goes up every year. It wouldn't hurt to book now.

Never too early-- you might get some weird looks/reactions, but don't worry bc you will have all of the vendors you want :)

We got engaged May 2013 and had a lot of stuff booked last Summer... Never too early. It's good to make those big decisions so you know how much you have to save for.

How far in advance?
We were engaged in September of 2011, booked our venue in December of 2012, our DJ/videographer/photographer in September of 2013, our officiant in February of 2014 when our original plan fell through. So early and late for us! I agree getting things done early saves you headaches, but at the same time getting things too early may also cause them!

I'd definitely say start looking as early as possible so you have time to really research and find something you love and can afford. That way you arent rushed and forced to go with one of a few 'okay' choices because they were all you had the time to talk to.

your not too early. with a year and a half you can take your time, do your research, and secure exactly who you want.

If you are picky about your photographer, I would book that soon. I booked mine in Feb and the head photographer was already booked for my date! (this was 16 months out)

Re: How far in advance?
We got engaged early March and have all the main things booked already. We are getting married May 22 2015. Everyone thinks I'm crazy, but I needed to book venues in order to know how much money we needed to save. I'm going dress shopping this Saturday because they usually take 6-8 months to come in. Things like invitations, bridesmaids gifts, etc. I'm saving for later.Another main reason we did this was because we didn't want to spend the weekends in the summer going to appointments. We wanted to enjoy our summer, and FH goes to school in the summer, so sometimes we only have Sundays together.
Feel free to book as early as possible!
