HELP! Questions/Concerns before signing contract with Crest Hollow Country Club!

Hi ladies!

I am due for my appointment to sign a contract with Crest Hollow.
I know contracts can be really tedious and tricky and I'm very scared I might leave out, miss something.

All advice/tips will be greatly appreciated.

1) I really want chair covers, but they are asking for $3 per chair. Sooo expensive!

2) What if you don't meet your guest minimum requirement? Mine is 100 ppl. Can you use the funds for something else?

3) Is time negotiable? I'm not a morning person and I have to book an afternoon wedding because that fits my budget. I prefer starting later.

4) Which in house florist are good? Distinctive or Flowers by Brian?

5) I saw posts about there being no music allowed during the ceremony is this true???

Ahhh hope all goes well

) I really want chair covers, but they are asking for $3 per chair. Sooo expensive!- Dont be afraid to haggle. See if they will throw them in or at least get them down to $1 a chair or something like that.

2) What if you don't meet your guest minimum requirement? Mine is 100 ppl. Can you use the funds for something else? Your minimum is exactly that. Wether you have 100 people or not your paying for that 100 people. Obv you pay for each person over that as well.

3) Is time negotiable? I'm not a morning person and I have to book an afternoon wedding because that fits my budget. I prefer starting later. Ask them what the latest start time they would consider for a 'daytime wedding'.

4) Which in house florist are good? Distinctive or Flowers by Brian? Cant help here... sorryy

5) I saw posts about there being no music allowed during the ceremony is this true??? Cant help with this either but there are a bunch of CHCC brides on here that I'm sure have the answer to this.

HTH!!! Congrats and Good Luck!!

Re: HELP! Questions/Concerns before signing contract with Crest Hollow Country Club!

As far as florists, flowers by Brian and distinctive are the most reputable. Of the two, I personally much preferred flowers by Brian, but I would recommend meeting with both and seeing who you like more.

A for music during the ceremony, what they rings nee was that out just can't be amplified, so it doesn't interfere with anyone elses celebration. Our DJ had worked at Cresthollow a lot, and said we wouldn't have a problem with music.

HTH!! I know out seems like they have a lot of restrictions and rules, but I think it will all be worth it!

I agree with the other post, regardless if you meet your minimum or not that is what you have to pay your RH and anything over will be extra.

they just don't want it to be overly loud right?
who was your DJ? was it one of their preferred vendors?

THank you Lau1007

re: the chair covers
might want to look elsewhere to either rent or buy. renting can be expensive...sometimes its actually cheaper to buy them online. and you may want to consider a sash, in place of a cover, if you can.

Re: HELP! Questions/Concerns before signing contract with Crest Hollow Country Club!

I'd ask about the minimum. I asked my hall and they said we could put the extra money towards additional things. The minimum garuntees the hall a set amount of money as long as you pay it they don't care if you dont have that many people there. It might not be every hall that is willing to do that, but it can't hurt to ask.

Re: HELP! Questions/Concerns before signing contract with Crest Hollow Country Club!

Make sure everything, I mean everything that is discussed get written up on that contract. $4 a chair did not justify it, so I didn't get them. As for flowers I used an outside vendor... Definetely do haggle, don't be afraid!

No problem! Like the other girls said.. Look into mabye buying them in bulk or if your crafty, take measurements of the chairs and buy a ton of fabric and make them.. That would HAVE to be cheaper plus you can sell them after regardless of which direction you go in... Good luck!!

First of ask, that was supposed to be 'what they told me...'. Ah, technology.

And yes, it just can't be loud, on case another group is having cocktail hour by the pool or something. Our DJ is long island sound, we're not going with very many of their preferred vendors

Re: HELP! Questions/Concerns before signing contract with Crest Hollow Country Club!

Congrats on booking your place! I have some answers, but since I haven't had my wedding yet I'm not really 100% on everything.

1-Maybe look into renting them elsewhere? I'm not paying extra for these, I don't mind the chairs as they are.

2-They may put the funds elsewhere if you don't meet the minimum, but you'll likely have to pay for those missing.

3-We told them what time we wanted, but the price is based on this. We knew we wanted it in the evening. If it's your budget for the afternoon and the contract says afternoon, you'll probably have to keep it.

4-I'm booked with FBB and they are great so far. Their prices were fine for what we wanted. I don't have much feedback here since we haven't actually had our wedding yet.

5-Certainly hope this isn't true, we have a string trio. I know other brides who have had music, it should be fine.

Re: HELP! Questions/Concerns before signing contract with Crest Hollow Country Club!

I had them throw chair covers in there for free.
I am using an outside florist..all you have to do is let your BM know who you want to use and they can make it happen.

Re: HELP! Questions/Concerns before signing contract with Crest Hollow Country Club!

Oh the cake. I also wanted square cake, but after they started scalating my costs, I stuck with round. I tell you this, I wanted a second filling and they wanted $200 for it. I went for it, and then took it back and put that $200 towards my extended CH insted...

Hey Love625, you can get in touch with sculptwareonline.com which is a online linen rental company as they have many offers going all year round which would save you on chair covers.
