Anyone keeping their maiden name?
I was thinking of keeping my last name and just adding on my future husband's to mine. Is anyone doing this or done this? I do not want to hyphenate. I would make it Brenda O..y P..i. Should I keep my middle name as well?
Do you have any other ideas on candle favors?
Just felt like sharing that.
Anyone keeping their maiden name?
Hi, Brenda!
It's the '90's...well, not for long...but you know what I mean... *Do whatever you want!*
I went to college in the South, and it's very popular to legally change you're name to be . (They drop the middle name completely.) I think that it's more popular in the South to do that than other places, but I can't say for sure. But, that's not to say you can't do that or anything else.

In the South, it's very popular for brides to legally change their names to:
*their first name* *maiden name* *married last name*

My wife's last name is Brett and my last name is Kauffman. Our kids were hyphenated w/Brett-Kauffman. They now want to be Brett because it was just too unwieldly. (For some reason too many people didn't understand why we had three names, even though it was pretty obvious to us.) (Actually, they said if it weren't for my two "fs" then they would be ok-too many people misspelled it.) I'm thinking of changing my name to Brett also so we are all the same + Mark Brett sounds pretty good. The problem is the business name and if my name disappears how will people find me? (Sounds like a familiar problem!) (Maybe I should just drop an "f" and that would solve enough of the problem.) I've done a few weddings where both partners came up with a new name for both of them. That seems like the best solution, but it is still hard to find someone when their name disappears. I also think that if the hyphenated solution is chosen, then both partners should be hyphenated, not one.
Good luck!

Hey Brenda!
I'm keeping my name, adding my fiances, and he is legally taking my name as well! We're putting a little spin on it! Therefore we will be Ayanna *my maiden* *his name* and he will be Chip *my maiden* *his name*. We decided to do it this way b/c we are becoming part of one another. I will probably keep my middle names as well! I came into the world with them, and I'll leave with them:)!!!!
I read in some brides magazine that you can keep them all and use what you want. I don't know how true that is... I am going to ask a lawyer though...

Way to go Ayanna! (I knew I liked you!)
Looking forward to seeing you again... Mark

I am going to keep my maiden name. I have no middle name so that is not a problem. Actually, in doing this..I will now have a middle name!!! Besides, I like my maiden name more than my Fiance's Last name..so it works for me! :)
