what were your bridal shower themes?

i posted this under brides helping brides but didn't get too much of a response so i thought i'd try here. my mom's friend is asking me what i'd like for a theme as she's throwing the shower for me (she's not good with these things and apparently i'm not either- haha). thanks!

mine was patriotic and was held at the George Washigton Manor around President's Day. The place is historic, the wait staff was is period costume, the favors were cherry pies (G. Washington cut down the cherry tree...), prizes were from Mt. Vernon (G. Washington's home in VA), etc. It was very cute!

mine was the same as my wedding theme...a summer garden

for my sisters...I used the 'shower' theme...we gave out mesh sponges and soap for favors...and I had a towel cake for my sister from her registry towels...

mine was a cooking theme-- they did a great job incorporating it into centerpieces, favors, wishing well, etc

My 'theme' was love. Everything was red (my favorite color) but it didnt extend too far..it was mostly for the decorations.

Garden Party. I love gardening so i had a Wishing Wheelbarrow in lieu of a well. Guests were encouraged to bring items for gardening and home repairs (since we have been remodeling our home room by room.)

Mine was a tea party. I love tea, the centerpieces were ceramic tea pots w/flowers coming out of them and the favors were tea cups on saucers wraped in tulle with a tea bag attached that had my name and date on it. It also said, 'Love is brewing...' I LOVED it!!! It was soo me!!

Mine was a Christmas theme shower,
but it was held in Dec.

I threw a shower for my sister last June, and did a whole Luau theme, decorations and attire, it was alot of fun

good luck

I love themes,
not necessary for people ot buy gifts in this theme, but just for the decorations.

my sister also had a around the world theme, in which everyone who was invited got a different country and brought a gift related to this country somehow!!
