Re: need advice from the newlyweds

Try to remember to take little moments for yourself, time to just look around an take it all in. Dont stress the small stuff and assign the big stuff to your support team. Best wishes to you.

Re: need advice from the newlyweds

we had a thread about this a while ago. Here is what I wrote:

at the reception, take a step back. Be alone by your self for a little bit. Just look around. Take it all in. Realize every person who is there in attandance is there because they love and support you. Then look around and take notice of all the hard work you put into planning that perfect day. Pay attention to detail, look at the table cloths, napkin colors, chair covers, flowers, dresses, shoes, everythig you did to make the day magical - then give yourself a pat on the back - YOU DESERVE IT!!!

Best of luck to you

Re: need advice from the newlyweds

I agree. Take time to take a mental picture of everything going on - it's like having a snapshot in your head. Don't worry about little things - just have fun!!!

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful day!

Re: need advice from the newlyweds

My advice is - and after months and months of planning this may be difficult - to let go of any responsibilities you may feel you have on that day. Once you arrive at Flowerfield, let the day be in their hands (trust me, they are good at it!), and just enjoy. Anything that doesn't go according to plan will be minimal, and you probably won't even know about it. Just sit back, relax, and be the princess you dreamed of being!

And don't forget... you can't post on the NW board unless you come back with PICTURES!
(Okay, I'm lying... you can post here any time... we just love pictures! )

Re: need advice from the newlyweds

I like Jenns advice.

Relax, smile ALL DAY, enjoy the company of your bridal party when youre all getting ready, those are fun moments you look back on....

In the middle of the reception,
'run away' for like ten minutes with your hubby, we went to the bridal suite for a few minutes just to 'take it all in' and have a moment alone I dont think we said 'lets get outta here' I think we were looking for something, and happened to be there alone, and we just stopped and stood there with eachother :)

You will be princess for a day, smile like you are Cinderella and God has found your Prince Charming!

Enjoy and report back !! We wanna hear all about it

Re: need advice from the newlyweds

from a loving oven (lands end) bride

I agree!! let the people you hired take care of everything...there is nothing that you can do anymore...you have hired professionals...

I was never in want of anything...so just relax and enjoy...

make sure that you personally speak to EVERY person at the wedding...even the people you don't like!!

Re: need advice from the newlyweds

Everyone seems to have covered the most important parts of taking in your day, etc, so I will add one minor, not that important thing, but one that will be so fun (at least it was for me!)....Take advantage of your maitre d'. Not advantage in the bad was like abusing him/her, but let them cater to your ever need and want! Our maitre d' was awesome and from the moment we arrived he was all about, 'what can I get you, etc.' At first I was kind of like, it's ok..I can do it, but then a couple minutes later I realized when else in my life will I have someone wait on me hand and foot...NEVER! He even came and found me on the dance floor with to ask me if I needed a drink! So let the staff work for you and your man!
