Here was our cake. It was supposed to have sand and shells around it but who knows what happened with that. You can speak to your florist or reception site about something like that. Here is our cake topper and invitation. I won the cake topper off of ebay.
and of course we took pictures at the beach.

Re: Hey newlyweds, did anyone have a beach theme wedding
Sorry I had to post all the pics one at a time but I had them on my HD. I used to have some more but I can't seem to find them anymore...if I come accross them I'll be sure to post. I've seen some nice center pieces that use shells with the flowers or have sand and shells around them. I've also seen where they paint a number on a shell for the table number.Hope this helps a bit. Let me know if you have any questions.
Best of luck to you.

applesfla - those pictures are so great. Makes me wish we had a beach theme weddingI saw in the Yankee Candle catalog the cylinder candles filled with seashell potpourri. They looked really nice. Would make good centerpieces (I was actually going to go get them for my dining room table for the summer)

Re: Hey newlyweds, did anyone have a beach theme wedding
I had a beach theme. I had the same cake topper as apples and a similar cake. I also had the gel candles with shells inside around everywhere, that I got at the 99 cent store. I had a lighthouse sign in book, named my tables after LI beaches, and gave Guylian choclate seeashells with a donation as a favor.......and I got married at the Crescent beach Club. My centerpieces were flowers and then I ordered mini seashells from some sight on the internet and scattered those around the base of the centerpiece.Hope that helps......I also had summer type stamp art on my placecards, like a shovel and pail, flip flops, beach chair, beach umbrella on pearlized blue placecards that I got at Papaer Access in the City.
FM me if you want.
GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Hey newlyweds, did anyone have a beach theme wedding
Yes, I had a beach theme, too! We had seashells in all bouquets, boutinerres and centerpieces. My invites had embossed shells on them, and our cake was blue with fondant shells. I'd be happy to help you will any ideas or vendor recommendations, if you are interested. Have fun w/this...I know I did! Here's a centerpiece shot - flowers were daisies, queen ann's lace, heather, eucalpytus and bear grass:
Here's the cake - I highly recommend my cake designer - she is very talented. The centerpieces on the cake table were made inside conch shells.
Here's a pew bow:
