11/6/15 Wedding- Timber Point, Capture the Moment, Absolute DJ, All Star Limo, Afresh Approach, and more!

This group has been amazing at helping me plan and contact vendors. I have learned that you definitely need to do your research and really know who are working with and don’t get caught up in the moment and just book someone. The day goes by so quickly, and honestly any drama that has lead up to the wedding day isn’t important. I kept things simple and didn’t go crazy over minor details and everyone had an amazing time. I will add pictures in the near future

St. Patrick’s Church Bay Shore-
Before the wedding everything went smoothly with any contact we needed to make. Pre-Cana wasn’t as bad as everyone makes it seem! It was a long weekend but we learned a lot about each other. The day of the wedding went so smoothly. Father Tom kept us calm and our ceremony was beautiful.


Captain Bill’s-
My shower and rehearsal dinner were both held here. The food was amazing and the staff very nice. We had no issues for either event.


All Star Limo-
We had the vintage rolls royce, a 21 passenger party bus, and a 31 passenger shuttle bus. All vehicles showed up on time, clean, and stocked with drinks. All the drivers were very professional. The only issue we really had was with the shuttle driver. He took the very long way to and from the hotel making the trips even longer than they needed to be.

Residence Inn Marriot, Central Islip-
Very easy to block rooms and there is no charge for unblocked rooms. Kayte was wonderful with any question I had emailed her or when I asked for an update on our block. All the rooms are suites and are very clean and spacious.

Black Dahlia-
I worked with Sheryl. She was amazing! Very understanding and knew exactly what I wanted and stayed within my budget. We rented floating candles and they looked beautiful on the tables!

Elizabeth Aiello-makeup
Liz was the first makeup artist I went to that didn’t over-do me and took into consideration that I don't really wear a lot of makeup. She was very sweet and her prices were reasonable.

Absolute DJ-
We had Paul as our MC and I don't remember the DJ’s name but they were both great! They were never in our face or our guests faces and kept the dance floor going all night. We used their white blizzard system which allowed them to hook up to Timber Point’s lighting and create the uplighting through their system. And the colors changed throughout the night with the music. We also got their Super Booth photo booth which our guests loved and it didn't take away from people dancing. We had a CD with all of the pictures by the next week.




Afresh Approach-
We got our favors from them. We did 3 truffles in a bag attached to mini champagne bottles. The truffles are absolutely amazing! We used these as our favors/escort cards.

Jessica Leigh Paperie-
Jessica was great to work with. We used her for our escort cards to put over the champagne bottles. Her work is amazing!

Epicure Events and Design-
The most affordable for invitations if you want to work with someone and not just order online. Communication was lacking though, I often had a hard time getting in touch with them. But their work and quality was great. I used them for my invitations and programs.

Capture The Moment-
Jessica and her team are absolutely amazing! They made us feel so comfortable and we didn't even know they were there after all the formal pictures were taken. We had teaser pictures posted within 24 hours! I have not seen our highlight reel, remaining pictures, or final video yet but I have no doubt they will be amazing!

Campbell's Bakery-
Cake was delicious and their flavors were great. Our cake was included with Timber Point. We had a choice of Campbell's or Rolling Pin. Rolling Pin was very disappointing to deal with. You have to pay for cupcake samples online and then take the samples home. And everything is done through email. Their cupcakes were horrible. I can't even put it nicely, they didn't taste anything like the samples they had at their showcase.

Helen’s Bridal- Commack
Liz and Ashley were amazing to work with. They didn't pressure me into buying anything and are the sweetest mother/daughter duo! I actually found my dress in another store but went back to Helen’s to have them order it for me so I could continue dealing with them. I had no problems and I knew I was in good hands. We also rented the tux’s through Helen’s and no one had any issues. It was one price for any of the tux’s and the groom got his for free with the rental of 5 tux’s. Helen’s is a smaller bridal place but you get that warm family feel. They knew me and my family all by first name even when we hadn’t been there in months from ordering and then trying on my dress.

Bridal Suite of Centereach-
We bought 10 dresses here- bridesmaids, flower girls, and my mom. We had no problems ordering. But we had many problems with alterations. From being cut too short and uneven, to not being very accommodating with when you can come in for alterations. The woman we dealt with had an attitude and did not make us feel very welcome. I have a very easy going bridal party and family so for me to be saying this is huge because it takes a lot to make us feel that way.


Mini-Moon: Naples, FL
We used Melissa from Trip Guy to book our mini-moon to Naples. It was the perfect little getaway because we didn't have a lot of time off from work to go anywhere. We left the day after the wedding and stayed for 4 nights. It was the perfect amount of time to just relax and unwind. Melissa was great to book with. She responded very quickly and helped us find the perfect spot. We stayed at La Playa Resort. The resort is a little outdated as far as their rooms are concerned but still very clean. They upgraded our room and we had a room in their beach house where our doors opened up to a private patio and then just steps from the beach. There was also a couple of pools, a restaurant on site, a spa, and beach and pool side drink/food services. .


Zales-
I bought my bridesmaids their necklaces from Zales.com. A simple necklace that I think most of them would wear again. Great quality and fast shipping.


Etsy Vendors:

elegantmonogramming -ordered customized handkerchiefs for mom, dad, grandparents, and groom. Great quality and shipped quickly.

TheWhiteInvite - ordered custom thank you cards for bridal party, parents, grandparents, bride, groom…etc. Great quality and reasonably priced.

ScissorMill - bought engraved toasting flutes. Very nice quality and shipped quickly.

woodstockin - bought engraved pocket knives for the best man. excellent quality

alexandreasjewels - necklaces for the flower girls. came packaged really cute with a custom message

thefancypigeon - engraved unity candle set. we wanted something we could reuse and this was perfect

weddingcollectibles - cake topper. no issues great quality

ParcelIsland - customized design for our save the date magnets which I then uploaded and printed through vista print




Timber Point-
My husband and I are very easy going people and we wanted a venue that matched our personalities. We wanted a venue that was one event at a time because we felt if we are spending this kind of money we should have a place to ourselves. Our banquet manager was Miriam and she was wonderful to work with from start to finish. She helped in suggesting vendors and decor ideas. We rented two heaters for the outside patio for cocktail hour and although we got very lucky with having such warm weather in November, I’m still glad we rented them. People were able to enjoy using the outside space throughout the whole night. We had Bruce as our matre de and he was great to work with. He made sure everything transitioned smoothly and made sure we had everything we needed. Nicolette was our bridal attendant and she was also great to work with. She bustled my dress in minutes which was a huge help because I had such a big train to work with. All of our decor we brought was displayed just as we had asked and everything was cleaned and boxed for us at the end of the night. The food was amazing we had guests texting us days after telling us how great the food was. We added on the hot pretzels at the end of the night which was a huge hit! Guests really enjoyed it as they left to go on the shuttle. Overall we had an amazing night and I really have no complaints whatsoever.
