Did you ask someone to do a reading at your wedding?

My FH and I asked three of our close friends to do a reading at the wedding. I know that they come to the RD, what type of a gift (if any) did you get for them? I am worried because everyone else will be getting gifts and I don't want them to feel left out. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Did you ask someone to do a reading at your wedding?

Are the readers male or female? How old are they? What are you getting your bridal party? Maybe a double frame so they can put a pic of them doing the reading and your wedding picture, or a triple frame and add a copy of the reading. Maybe a smaller version of the bp gifts.

Re: Did you ask someone to do a reading at your wedding?

I was asked to do a reading for a wedding I attended this weekend. I was invited to the rehearsal dinner as well. I did not feel left out when the other girls (BM's) were getting there gifts. Although I was not given the same gift, I was given a gift certificate to get a manicure/pedicure. In addition, I was given a corsage to wear at the ceremony/reception. I thought it was really nice the way they treated the readers. Good luck

Re: Did you ask someone to do a reading at your wedding?

From what I understand you're supposed to give your readers a little something, but it doesn't have to be as expensive as you may spend on your bridal party. I like the idea of a frame with a photo from the wedding, to give them later, and a nicely printed copy of the reading. You can also get them something that would be personal to them. If you tell us a little about your readers, we may be more help.

something small should be fine - perhaps related to an interest (a new book, bookmark, plant, pen, journal, subscrip to a magizne even)

Re: Did you ask someone to do a reading at your wedding?

FSILs are doing readings at our wedding, since we are having only BM and MOH. I wasnt planning on getting them anything for RD. We are getting them corsages to wear at the wedding and then when we get out pics back we were going to have a pic of each of them framed.

We have 3 readers as well. We are giving them a nice Book-maker and gift certificate to Barnes-Nobel Bookstore. Don't forget that you should get the male readers a boutonier and female readers a coursage. Do get an invite to the RD as well.

Same idea. We got our GC at Borders though. Here are a picture of the bookmarks we are getting for the females and males. http://www.lillianvernon.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&productId=12507&addOn=484&categoryId=&catTree=&clearance=&sid=eas

Re: Did you ask someone to do a reading at your wedding?

We also had 3 readers but they were family members & 1 OOT guest...so they were all at the RD, but we didn't give them gifts. We were on a budget...but you could do a small token gift, like an engraved frame or the double sided frame in which you could put a photo and a printed version of their reading. We also skipped gifts for our parents but will do enlargements for them of their choosing.

Re: Did you ask someone to do a reading at your wedding?

We are also having three readers at our wedding. They will be invited to the Rehearsal Dinner and we are giving each of them books related to their interests--architecture, photography and theater.
