The Shower Drama Continues with my crappy BM's

Last week I posted that my BM's weren't willing to contribute what my MOH was asking of them ($200). The drama continues. My MOH is trying to compromise with them and see what they feel comfortable with. They say $100/each.

I shouldn't be angry because I know things are rough for everyone but I know that 1 BM in particular is VERY well off and shes the one giving my MOH the biggest issue.

I just want to cry and say screw the shower if no one wants to contribute towards it

their dress is cheap. i bought their shoes and doj and they dont have to pay for hair or m/u.

Yikes! I think that's horrible, especially since you're doing so much for them. I would say give your MOH another list of close friends that may be willing to pitch in (If I wasn't in a close friend's wedding, I'd still help out) and consider this a lesson learned with those "friends" of yours.

have your MOH explain that to them. that YOU paid for all the all the other stuff it shouldn't be a problem

I definitely do NOT think you're being a bridezilla. If I remember correctly, you mentioned that they're established except for one bc she is a little younger. They can very well save up for it, I mean they've known about this since you asked them to be BM. I'm so sorry that they're being unreasonable!!

i dont think ur being a bridezilla at all!! they agreed to be in ur BP, they're ur friends.....IMHO they should be happy that ur being so nice and paying for all their hair and makeup...and shoes. i would be!!! i dont know what i'll be able to pay for when it comes to my BMs...

my bridesmaids aren't contributing money for my shower..only my matron of honor and my mom are paying for it

aww i'm sorry....i think its really nice of your MOH to compromise with them. the only thing i will say about the bm who is well off that is giving her a hard time, people who talk about money don't necessarily have it, so maybe she is having financial issues right now.

just a suggestion, maybe you can email the girls asking them to contribute whatever they can or maybe they help with decorations, invitations, favors, etc.

Do BM's usually contribute to the shower?? Mine aren't and I didn't ask when my sister got married. Should my sister be asking them to?

im sorry, sound slike theyre a tad bit unappreciative, you did help with them by picking less expensive dress buying their shoes and doj and they know the responsibilites of being in a bp and if your asked to even be a bm its usually because youre close to that person so youd think theyd want to contribute and make your shower awesome, sorry im like angry for you, thats just plain out ridiculous, honeslty if it was me i would tell them straigh tout that you understand everyones financial situations are different but being that youre not made of money either it would be nice for them to contribute as you have to them hope it works out hun

thanks girls....im the most upset that they can't try to "work something out", instead they are trying to negotiate with my MOH if i was a bm and didnt have the money right now i would be honest and say "i can only give you $___ right now, i will try to get more together in the next few months" but thats just me

I'm kinda in the same position, except my bridesmaids are all out of state and don't make very much money so I feel bad asking them to pay for my shower considering they won't even be around for it. My future MIL wants to call them up and ask them for money, but I feel funny doing this. I say we just have it at somebody's house and have some appetizers and wine and I'd be perfectly happy, but I think my future MIL feels pressure to have it at a fancy restaurant and pay a fortune. Not sure what to do about it either, and its frustrating that everyone is stressing me out about it. I'm about to say forget the whole shower its causing more stress than its worth.

Maybe your MOH can say that their shower gift to you is what they contribute. For a good friend I would easily spend $100 on a shower gift. Maybe they think they have to pay for the shower and buy a gift on top of that.. If your MOH explains that the contribution is the gift maybe then they will budge.
