I'm going to invite my class to the ceremony. Is anyone else doing this? Did you make an invitation for them? Any ideas for an invite would help! TIA

I did! I actually gave it out today! Here is what I used.................
Fourth grade is almost over and summer will be here. That means Ms._______'s wedding day is near!
You are all so special to me and I would like to say, I would love to see you on my wedding day!
It would be my pleasure to have you there To celebrate this happy affair!

Oh i wish i had seen this post. I actually just took my invitation and photocopied it with directions attached and stuck it in the kids mail boxes. That poem is adorable.

I didn't invite my students. I find that my wedding is a very personal thing, although they know I'm getting married, I don't particularly want them there. Despite the fact that I'm not fond of all my students, If I were to invite some, it would be a handful. Also, my students don't have means or ways to get to LI so it would only be a stress on me to get them to the actual location. So, NO I'm not inviting them. I must say the poem is cute...just wouldn't work for me or my age group. I have teenagers!

I didn't invite them because I teach in NJ, it wouldn't been impossible for the parents to travel 2 hrs to NY to the ceremony, But if I got married closer I would've definetly invited them! XOXOXO Kitty

is it ok to invite students/ coworkers to the mass and not to the reception? i'm having a large wedding and couldn't afford to invite them all to the reception so i just didn't invite...now that i see that poem i'm thinking maybe i can just send an invite to the ceremony? do you think they would then come to the reception even if its not mentioned on the invite? tia

I just invited them to the church- no way would I invite them to the reception, it isnt proper. If they get the invite or poem mentioned above, they should know it only means church. I highly doubt anyone would question it!
