I know all about renting a tux and renting shoes. But anyone know of any places where you can rent the dress? Why pay all that money to wear it once? Just a thought.
Anyone know of any places or sites? Anyone ever heard of anyone doing this? Or am I just crazy?

Re: Rent a Wedding Dress?
You aren't crazy at all! My cousin actually rented hers, for a fraction of the price! The place she used went out of business about four years ago.. but I'll keep a lookout for ya!

Re: Rent a Wedding Dress?
My manicurist told me that many Asians rent their wedding dresses because they change dresses throughout the wedding. I'm wondering if Chinatown might not have a place that rents gowns.
I know there's a place in Manhattan that rents gowns, but I can't remember the name of the place for the life of me.
Try posting this on the NYC board on the knot.

Re: Rent a Wedding Dress?
You're more than welcome to rent my dress any time after April 16th! It's very simple two piece corset top a line skirt with no train. I may actually try to sell most of my stuff afterwards. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: Rent a Wedding Dress?
I THINK I remember reading about renting gowns recently. Maybe in the new New York Weddings issue from New York Magazine? I don't have it at work or I would let you know for sure, but I think they listed places you can rent from. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Re: Rent a Wedding Dress?
It's not a rental, but there's a place in the city the Bridal Garden that does designer dresses at a fraction of the price. And the proceeds go towards charity. Just something to think about! Good Luck with your search!

Re: Rent a Wedding Dress?
I found the article! It lists MyrJan in Park Slope, 718-623-3848, Fancy Wedding Center near Coney Island, 718-234-3442 and www.alexandriasformal.com. Also, for veils, Jana Starr Antiques in Manhattan, 212-861-8256, and for jewelry, Doyle & Doyle in Manhattan, 212-677-9991. Let us know if you find anything!
