Review of CHCC from Thursday
I went to a wedding on Thursday at the Crest Hollow Country Club and I had so much fun! The venue is beautiful!!!! I'm going to do a mini review on it!
The venue is gorgeous!!!
The ballroom we were in was so spacious
The dance floor was huge
The food in cocktail hour was excellent!!! There wasn't too much of it, but it was a very Jewish wedding, so it had to be kosher. What was there though was outstanding. I thought the rice (whatever it actually was) was the most flavorful rice I've ever had. I stuffed myself during cocktail hour! The pasta salad was also out of this world!
Big Hits was the DJ and they were great!
The ballroom we were in was upstairs, but there is no bathroom up there. So, it was like a 5 minute walk every time I had to use the bathroom. I thought that was a little odd... The bathroom itself was beautiful and had a whole vanity in the middle, but there was an attendant there who just sat on the sink the whole night. I don't think she did anything
I'm not sure why she was there.
There was no bar in the ballroom I was in. They brought two bars up from downstairs and were using soda cans to fill the drinks. They made VERY strong drinks...I had to always get my rum and diet coke with an extra glass of diet coke and do mixing at the table because it was so strong!! It just looked weird in such a beautiful hall to have a little bar with cans of soda on top...
The food at the reception was good -- I heard the salmon was great. The Chateau Briand was okay. There was nothing special, but it wasn't bad. I didn't like the salad at all. I don't know if it was just this wedding, but there was nothing between my salad and dinner. Could have been because it was late on a Thursday night. The salad was too much red leaves, which I don't eat, but that was probably their preference.
Viennese hour -- YUM!!! It wasn't huge, but there was plenty to eat. They made bananas foster (so good) and had a bunch of other stuff. I was so full that I only ate bananas foster, chocolate ice cream and a piece of chocolate cake (yes...I said ONLY
) and I had a bite of the wedding cake because it's bad luck not to.
The service was outstanding. The waiters, bartender, DJ and everyone else there was so personable and nice. The wedding was really nice!! I hope this mini review helps! Let me know if you have questions!!!
