Brazillian Wax -- Maximus Spa vs. Bliss Spa

Cost
Bliss NYC $55
Maximus LI $40

Wax Type
Bliss: Lavender
Maximus: Honey

Customer Service
Bliss: 10
Maximus: 8 1/2

Waxing Method & Results
Bliss 10
Maximus 8

Pain (in both cases, pain is short and over quickly)
Bliss: Moderate Pain
Maximus: A lot of pain

My overall preference BLISS. I will choose Bliss unless I am broke, then Maximus is good enough.
I am very smooth

Anyone who's done the wax before can go to Maximus, however I would not recommend anyone who's going for the wax for the first time, to go to Maximus, it's too painful.
Bliss is much better in the pain category.

Well I guess Maximus is out of the question completely for waxing. Enzo got his eyebrows waxed one day and the girl literally burned him, thank God for my cousin who told him what to do so he didn't scar. This was about a month before the wedding...too.

Wow
Well, it was OK, no burning, but the lady was a little tough handed, and just like yanked the strip off kinda rough.
Luckily I have a high tolerance, or else.

If this were my first time at Maximus, I might be turned off from waxing again.

YIKES!! Thanks Liz…
Kathy I had a lip wax done last week and I got burned too! I got home and wanted to go back to the salon and strangle the woman!!
Now I have to find a new place to get my nails and waxing done!

What is up with them burning people?
I did notice the wax was hot. I like the Lavender MUCH better.

wanda, def. try Bliss.
When I get back from HM, I plan to go that Friday, the 13th.

I usually get my nails done and get waxed by Nancy at Nails 2000 in Broadway mall. When she waxes my eyebrows and lips I do not feel anything. Everywhere else I hurt.

I havent gone to maximus but I did enjoy the experience at Bliss. The people were really nice, the room was relaxing, the pain was very quick and the wax they used was soothing and didnt leave any red or burning.

I will also say it lasted for about a month which I thought was great.

And also, at Bliss they had a nicer ambiance, music, they didn't have anything like this at Maximus. I agree w/Chippa, it was relaxing at Bliss, I'd go there again and again.

Kathy does Nails 2000 have specials? Mani & Pedi specials?
Where in the Broadway Mall are they?
My favorite place I used to go to was horrible the last time I went. I have tried 3 places since then and I have not been happy.
Lisa are you ready for a shape up?

They usually do have for the summer, but I really have not gone their for atleast 2 months since I have been so busy. I am going on Friday to get a pedicure and to get my eyebrows and lips waxed. They are right next to Ruby Tuesdays, its small but I have been using Nancy since my prom.

I have a great nail lady if interested. i also get my eyebrows threaded in an Indian Salon in Hicksville.

curly, have you had the permanent french done by your nail lady?

Latina511 Posted:

Re: Brazillian Wax -- Maximus Spa vs. Bliss Spa

I use to get my eyebrows threaded in Hicksville also but I stopped. I don't have time so waxing is the fastest way for me right now.

Everything BUT the perm french.

k- threading took like 3 minutes.

I know but I don't have time to drive there, so I just get it done where I get my nails done. This way I take care of 2 things at once. Enzo goes threading and he loves it. He will not wax after that bad experience he had with Maximus.
