I saw the earlier post regarding 'Band'. Has anyone had or seen a good band that is not too expensive, that they would recomend?

Re: Can anyone suggest a good band?
I know Code Bleu is good and not very expensive. They are performing at the Milleridge on Wednesday next week at 8pm. They are part of Skyline Orchestras - they are a vendor on this site. I haven't heard them yet but hear that they are good - I am going Wednesday.

Re: Can anyone suggest a good band?
Hey there,
I'm the gal whose fiance is in Code Bleu (he's the saxophonist) and I can promise you that they're terrific. (If you want to freak him out, go up to him after the showcase and tell him violetfairy told you to come. )
I went to see Top Shelf and Skyline tonight. I'm very surprised I've never seen anyone talk about Top Shelf before-- I had never seen them before, but I thought they were really good, and I know some brides booked them tonight. They were fun to watch and sounded great, and are not too expensive (none of the Skyline Orchestras bands are very expensive).
I'm having the same concern, though-- a lot of the bands I thought I was going to look at (like The Next Faze, Body Heat, etc.) are out of my price range.
Anyone else want to suggest some good bands that are, let's say, under $6000?

Full House - great band that has been together for a long time. They are also reasonably priced. Their website has snippets of music you can listen to. They had my guests on the dance floor all night long.
Our band is Midnight Magic Orchestra and they are excellent! They play R&B, Motown, Funk and any type of dance music imaginable. Easy to work with and you are working with the band directly. 516 365-5064

Re: Can anyone suggest a good band?
We used Times Square Orchestra. They were fantastic. We've had at least 5 people who were guests at the wedding call and ask for their info. They are an 8 piece band and were very reasonable too.
The are AMAZING- everyone I have talked to who had them LOVED them - I have seen them twice (FH did not get to see them live when we booked so I brought him to see them on our 1 year to wedding date)
They are fabulous to work with and are less than 6000 - but quality wise they were up there with the 6000-8000 bands. I took singing lessons (for more than 10 years) and piano lessons (8 years) and my father is musically inclined as well.
We liked them b/c they looked formal, but they were not dead sounding like 90% of the bands we looked at - they had great energy and a HUGE repetoire and they were great with whatever they played.
My grandparents are even excited to have them play at the wedding (they saw the video which was NOT nearly as good as they are live)

Re: Can anyone suggest a good band?
A year later people are still talking about my band, and a bunch of guests have booked them! Even friends of guests have booked them because of the raves. They were incredible. Current Affair
They were about $5000 when we booked, but they're easily worth double that. And they bring so much personality to the songs.
Full House was a second choice. Saw Code Blue and others, but Current Affair blew them away.
I hear Timepiece is also great, but haven't personally seen them (they were booked for my day).

I am also using Times Square Orchestra, and I thought they were the best of all the bands I have seen at the showcases. I also like that they are very organized business wise, and you know what you are getting. I have never heard anything bad about them from anyone, as I have heard with others. They are less than $6000, but they are worth every penny, and play a greater variety of music than any of the others that I have heard. My second favorite was The Mystic, they were really good also. All in all, I have seen: Code Bleu, Skyline, Heart and Soul, The Mystic, Times Square, Full House, and some other band at a Verdi's expo (I cant remember the name, but they were terrible anyway).
On a humorous note, yesterday I was on the computer at school waiting to go to class, and I was reading back to old posts on the 34th page or something, and I was laughing so hard at the fake bride/vendors on here! Specifically, I am wondering if 'Lizzy' is going to come on this post and reccomend Creations. LOL..

We're using Peter Greco - my SOs brother & sister used them and they are fantastic! 9 piece band (includes 3 vocalists - 2 women & 1 man).
