Do you think Scott Peterson is Guilty? He just got arrested...

Anyone following this case? It is so horrible. What is your opinion on this guy?

They think he murdered his wife and his unborn/newly born baby.

It's so sad. I thought for a long time that he didn't do it, only because I thought there's no way a man would murder his child...maybe I was wrong!

Modesto California. A pregnant woman (laci) has been missing since Dec.24 last seen by her husband that morning. Her husband went fishing in an area where a couple of days ago a womans body and fetus were found. This is a very long story their is actually a website for laci that can be found on the modbee.com (the modesto bee news website) There is a news conference later on on CNN 9pm.

Oh yes. I remember. I followed it when it happened and as the case died down so did I.

I wont be home to see the news conference.

I dont know how I feel if he did it or now. Their just doesnt seem to be enough evidence right now and I heard at 6pm their were tests still being done on the woman.

The only thing they have is they found the body. How was she killed? Can they estimate the time of death? What was the motive?

I watch way too much law and order

he was acting way too guilty...

-buying a new truck right after his wife disappears ( I think he traded in HER car!)
-lying about the affair he had
-staying away from his house and trying to SELL it (I saw experts say that people who are hoping for their loved ones to be found won't leave the home in case they try to contact them - he pretty much moved out and went to San Diego!)

who goes fishing on Christmas Eve when your wife is 8.5 months pregnant?

I'm not at all surprised he was arrested. Too much of a coincidence that the body was found near the marina he was at that day she disappeared. Bet he was counting on a stronger current.

I just don't understand what possesses someone to do that - get a divorce! Why do you need to kill her?

chip - she was headless when they found her. But I don't know if that was the cause of death or done afterwards.

The guy was acting really suspicious always mentioning her in the past tense and what about that time a month after she was missing Scott sold Laci's car back to the dealership - the dealership owner felt bad and gave it back to Laci's parents. I really feel for that family. What the heck is wrong with people!! It is really disgusting.

I am reading a great CSI book and in the book a man didnt like his wife and dumped her in a lake. Only the body was cut up into a few pieces. The lake was too big to comb so they hoped for evidence to wash up. Slowly it did. But the missing piece, the head. All they had at first was a torso. The only problem is because of the salt in the water it breaks down blood and fingerprints making it harder for forensics to determine if a weapon does show up.

(I am really into this stuff)

With Laci Peterson I dont want to accuse but IF he did it there is going to be a lot of forensics done on his house, the area, his boat, his fishing tools and possibly his neighbors houses (if he may have borrowed anything)

She showed up with her head cut off, forensics and the ME are going to do an extensive test on her body, the baby and the umbillica cord. Sometimes these things take a few days.

What they need to determine is how she died. Was she killed then her head cut off and tossed into the marina. If so what was the weapon, where is that weapon?

This is going to be a long search and recovery of the items.

I dont want to go accusing until more evidence has surfaced. He does seem guilty, but as the law states he is innocent until proven guilty.

I definatly watch way too much Law and order and CSI

I just keep thinking of the OJ Simpson case.

Everyone swore he did it, but 12 civilans say he didnt.

I am just keeping an open mind and listening to everyone's point of views.

I LOVE Law&Order and CSI (watching way to many Law&Order re-runs in the afternoons these days )

They've been testing the body for a few days now, and in the past they have throughly searched the house many times - taking out 100's of pieces of evidence.

We'll just have to see how it all pieces together.

You're right Melissa. He is innocent until proven guilty. From what I heard on TV and in the news (another poster posted it above), the husband is the best suspect thus far.
Let's see what they say 2nite at 9pm.
