Breaking News re: Elizabeth Smart Kidnapping.

I just went to CNN website and they have an Alert on Top saying that police say that Elizabeth Smart was found alive in a Salt Lake City Suburb and more details will come soon! I'm so happy right now

CNN

Holy cow, i thought they would never find her!!!

We were in Las Vegas when this happened and we were glued to the tv, I am so happy for the family!!!!

I know I didn't think so either. This is great!!

can someone refresh my memory, elizabeth smart???

I dont know if i remeber this story....

I am glad for the family

This is a pic of her. She was kidnapped from her room by a man in the middle of the night. And the man told Elizabeth Smart's sister to not get up from the bed for a certain amount of time. I think this happened sometime in June.

YEEEESSSSSS

I remember the story...Thanks.

I am so glad they found her.

That is such great news...

I remember it was something with a repair guy who was working on there house. He was a suspect and was to be questioned but thats all I remember of the story.

I am so glad she was found alive. Oh what wondeful news for the family. I agree I hope that little girl wasnt abused in any way

I hope she wasn't either. She must have been so scared

Praise God! Some good news for a change! This poor child I hope she wasn't tortured or abused in anyway--this family must be beside themselves!

Holy Cow!! Great news. If I remember correctly, the repair man working on the house they had jailed for burgulary and a possible link to her kidnapping had died while in jail, so they thought leads to finding her were lost.

Again, great news.

ooooohhhh I dont remember hearing he died in Jail

Oh i hope who ever this mean monster is that took her gets locked away and the key gets thrown away

Absolutely insane. I am happy she is found..but so worried for what these $^$^#& put her though.

Here's an update from MSN on the web ( I edited it for space)

March 12 — Missing Utah teenager Elizabeth Smart, whose disappearance last June grabbed national headlines for weeks, was found alive Wednesday in the car of a drifter during a traffic stop in surburban Salt Lake, police said. NBC reported that the man once worked as a handyman in the Smart home. THE TEEN’S disappearance from her home June 5 in Salt Lake City sparked a massive search and nationwide media attention.
A citizen called police to report a suspicious group of people at a Burger King in Sandy, NBC reported. Sandy police pulled over Mitchell, another woman and a girl who looked like Elizabeth. They later confirmed her identity, police said.
Salt Lake City police detectives arrived to take over the investigation. Smart was transferred to the Salt Lake city police station. Mitchell was in custody at the Sandy police station.
Last month, Elizabeth’s parents announced a new reward for information and asked for help in their search for the handyman known only as “Emanuel.” They released a sketch of the man.

At the time, they said Elizabeth’s sister, Mary Katharine, had come to them recently to say “Emanuel” bore some resemblance to the man who took Elizabeth from their room at gunpoint.
Elizabeth was 14 when she was seized early on the morning of June 5 in front of her 9-year-old sister by a gunman who may have gotten into the house by cutting a window screen near the back door. As the younger sister pretended to be asleep, the gunman threatened to hurt Elizabeth if she didn’t keep quiet.
The top potential suspect in the kidnapping, Richard Albert Ricci, a handyman who once worked in the Smart household, died Aug. 30 after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage while in prison on a parole violation. He said he had nothing to do with the kidnapping.
Investigators have said they believe he was involved but may not have acted alone. Over the summer, the Smarts held twice-daily news briefings and helped coordinate huge volunteer searches. Ed Smart, a real estate broker, vowed to keep the case in the spotlight.

I said thank god when I heard about this. What a relief for the her family and the nation. It has been 9 months, and they are extremely lucky and blessed to find her alive.

I cried when I heard that they found her ALIVE

THANK GOODNESS!!!!!
