Bridal Dress Store Help

I have been to RKBridal and Lillettes.
I am going back to Lillettes but was wondering what other stores did you visit and would you recommend.

For the gowns I am looking for the designers are sold at the following:
Farmingdale: Princess Bridals
Flushing: Avic
Centereach: Bridal Suite
Lynbrook: The Bridal Center and Beautiful Bride
Bellmore: Renate's
Forgot to add Bridal Reflections which I won't go to.
As well as Flowerama in Elmont-very nasty woman on the phone who pi$$ed me off.

Have you experienced any of these? Good or bad comments. Thanks

Here are a few suggestions ...
Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook, Merrick Road
Lynbrook Bridal, Sunrise Highway
David's Bridal, Carle Place
Flowerama, Elmont (2nd choice) the dresses were beautiful
Wedding Plaza Bridal, Baldwin, Merrick Road
Kay Ann Bridal, Franklin Square, Franklin Avenue

Re: Bridal Dress Store Help

I can highly recommend Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook. They were so nice to me, and their prices are great. My dress is being stored there until Feb. 2004 and they have no problem letting me see her whenever I want to.

Re: Bridal Dress Store Help

I looked at bridesmaids dresses at Princess Bridal and there was a very nasty lady at the desk who was very rude and not helpful at all.
I had a really good experience so far at Paradise Bridal, but it is in Patchogue. I don't know if that is too far east for you.
I don't know about the other stores you mentioned.

Wanda: Where is Avic in Flushing? I went to Flowerama on Friday (a girl that I go to lawschool works there) and they were very helpful. I'm sorry that they were nasty to you I went to a bridal salon on Bell Blvd in Bayside and the lady was so nasty to me, so I walked out on her.

I ordered my dress from the Wedding Salon of Manhasset and I love that store!
I have been to Avic and they were always very sweet and helpful but I never actually purchased anything from there. Avic is on Northern Blvd., just a few blocks east of Utopia Parkway.

Marcela-
Let me guess, the store you are talking about was Charmet right? I went there looking for dresses because it is close to my house and I have been going there for years, I even ordered my prom dress from them. The horrible old woman that helped me this time was so nasty I ended up telling her off and walking out, I felt so angry, I honestly think I could have hit her. It really is a shame because Amelia, the woman who does alterations is so sweet and talented I would have loved to work with her. I don't think I will ever be going in there again. I have experienced their old lady attitudes too many times and have finally had enough. Most of their selection is stuck in an era gone by anyway!

I got my dress from the Bridal Suite in Centereach. We spent 3 hours taking on and off dresses. SO helpful and patient!!! I HIGHLY recommend them!

Re: Bridal Dress Store Help

I got my dress from Princess Bridals in Farmingdale. Yes, that woman behind the counter is rude, but the people that I dealt with were great, and the seamstress was wonderful. I had no complaints about Princess Bridals at all.

Thanks Ladies.
See the reason I am staying away from Flowerama is b/c of the rudeness. I can't stand nasty, obnoxious people and I get turned off right away with that type of service. Sorry Marcela
I will call Princess Bridals anyway. If she is nasty with me it will be one more place off the list to visit!

Re: Bridal Dress Store Help

I got my dress at Flowerama in Elmont (2 years ago) ... and they were all very nice. until i went there to show my ex-MOH the dress (the sample)... the girl was nasty with me and said i couldn't just do that. She was trying to stop me until i got in her face and said 'I'm just spent $2000 here... I think i can pretty much do what i want!!!'

I did not like Princess Bridals. I tried on a Paloma Blanca dress that was $1495. It was $1350 everywhere else.

Re: Bridal Dress Store Help

I got a BM dress from Flowerama once... personally, I don't like them at all...they ordered all the gowns 3 to 4 sizes too big, and you can't take a dress in that much anyway, without losing something - no one's gown fit right the day of the wedding.

I don't know anything about the rest of the places you mentioned...

Wanda-
I am most likely going to get my dress at Bridal Garden in Bethpage. I worked with Barbara and she was very pateint. very reasonably priced as well. Evelynrtorress bought her gown there.

Katherine: Yes, that's it!! I walked in and the old lady was so nasty. I asked her if I could try on bridal gowns and she (in a lazy and nasty voice)'AHH, now I have to get someone to help you'. I said no thanks and walked out.

Wanda: I totally agree with you! If they were rude to me, I wouldn't want to go there either. There are so many other bridal salons to go there. There's no point in going to one that you don't feel comfortable at

Avic - is that on Northern in Bayside....if so I went there and they were very nice.
