Re: If you could do things all over again...
I'd hire a different videographer, check that all the layers of my dress were altered properly not just the initially visible layers, remember to bring my cake topper and kiddush cup from Boston, and make sure the band doesn't call out my brother to dance with my mom instead of my husband with his mom... and other then that, not a thing. I am very happy with how my day went.

Is that sad face for me?? There is no need. I'm not at all sad about my day. Whenever you are organizing this many details, there are bound to be some overlooked. None of these things really mattered. My husband was there, all my living family was present - including my 96 year old great grandmother who passed away a few weeks after, and as far as the guests were concerned everything was perfect. I loved my wedding day. No one noticed any of the problems I did. But if you ask what were the little things that didn't go quite perfect, those were them...

Some of my decisions about my bridal party (long long story), and I would definitley have brought slippers to change into!!! Otherwise, my day was perfect, even with the rain!!!

I would have done the wedding on a smaller scale---- not at a huge hall. The wedding is costing way more than I would have hoped... Also, I would have asked someone else to be my bm, not the girl I did asked. She can be so mean and has me cry at least once a week.

I would have waited to ask some people to be in my bridal party ... I tell you, your true friends come out during the engagement and others you just can't believe the change.
I would have looked around for a better photographer ... overall, we are happy with our pictures, but I've seen better.
I would have negotiated everything with the hall before I signed ... we added things to our menu that the hall really doesn't negotiate with, after the contract is signed.
I would try to stress less and enjoy more ... all the little things bothered me, especially the ones I couldn't control (i.e. the weather). Your day turns out perfect no matter what, so the less stress - the better.
But on a large scale ... I loved my day - these things are petty when it comes down to it. The only thing that truly matters on your day are you and the man that you love, because without you two, there's no wedding day!

I would not have gotten married at my church - the chuch where I was baptized, received first communion, etc. - this is the only mar on my wedding day. We were treated so poorly - it still makes me angry just thinking about it.
Other than that I would not change a thing - it was wonderful.

I agree with Cira, I would not have booked my photog, my photos are OK and nice but I have seen much better as well.
I would have gotten a video even though it was too expensive OR I would have hired an outside friend to do the whole wedding on a personal video camera. (I had 2 friends there tape and there were many moments missing, NOT their fault at all since they were enjoying themselves)...
Other than the rain which I know I could not change but I would have if I could!!!, it was a great day!

I would have had a bigger wedding than i did.. It was a nice day, but we were both out of work and we had no choice to do a small wedding, and i didnt want to wait another year or two..

I would have hired a 'day of' coordinator. Since I got married in a mansion and not a hall there was no coordinator type person, like a matre de (sp?) or anything. That would have helped things move a little smoother. Other than that, I wouldn't have changed a thing. I really loved my wedding!!

Re: If you could do things all over again...
I would have skipped having my DH's sister's in BP. I like them a lot, but it was almost unnecessary to have them. We are not that close and they had to spend a lot on the outfits etc...I would have hired someone to bake the cake the way I wanted it instead I let the hall handle the arrangements and I got a 1/2 a$$ decorating job. I would have fought less with the hall coordinator- and called managment into the problems right away instead of trying to handle her myself. She got very nasty with me a few times, over my asking for basic information/advise, and I should have not waited sooo long to have the problem corrected. But in the end everything (but my ugly cake) worked out beautiful. I am very thankful I hired a day of coordinator! Elaine was worth every penny! And I am super happy with all my other vendors.

I would not have used my videographer or spent the money I did on him.
I was very happy with everything else.

Re: If you could do things all over again...
i would have sprung for the band or used a different dj.
i would have done the 'table circuit'. I didn't get to see so many people.
i wouldn't have spent so much time on the dance floor. It was fun of course, but I got stuck out there too often.
Otherwise. PERFECT DAY!

Re: If you could do things all over again...
spent less on band - but still glad i didn't get dj
let my mom be more involved in the planning - i tried to do too much on my own
glad i spent so much time on the small things - it really did make a difference - like the invitations, the thankyou cards, making nice placecards, the seating chart...ppl really noticed the touches
would have spent less time taking photos to be able to go to cocktail hour - we did eat the cocktail hour food in the bridal suite however
would have spent more time w/my parents on the day of - got kinda wrapped up trying to say hello and be gracious to all my guests
been more selective w/guest list - altho there were only 2 ppl i invited that i regretted and they didn't show
would have spoken up more to the photographers and told them to take certain shots -
practiced throwing bouquet

Re: If you could do things all over again...
There are only a few things I would change....
1. Get a second photojournalistic styled photographer. We have beautiful arranged portrait style photos, but I would LOVE to have some that captured the spirit of the day.
2. I would have gotten a different dress. I loved my dress, but now that it's over, I wish I didn't spend so much on it.
3. I would have done a receiving line to insure that I at least said hello to everyone (ceremony & reception were in the same place so this would have worked). I know we missed several people on DH's side of the room.
4. I would have tied mine and DH's hands together - we spent, what I feel, too much time apart. We would get seperated for an innocent reason (bathroom break or something) and then it would take too long to find each other.
All in all we had a WONDERFUL day!!

Re: If you could do things all over again...
If I could, the weather .. it rained all day
But seriously, the one biggest thing when I think back, I would have loved having a string quartet play at the church .. and maybe follow at the cocktail hour.
Other than that .. maybe just be a little more direct with some of our vendors. I think we took it for granted with some, and trusted that being seasoned professionals they knew what we wanted, even when things got written down, rather than absolutely confirming up and down that they truly understood what we said. However, that could have made me a lot more stressed!
Edited to say I would have pulled more people out to dance, and would have made sure to visit a bit more.
