Unity candle/outdoor ceremony

Girls that have had an outdoor ceremony and used a unity candle, how did you work this?
Did it work or was it hard to light?
TIA

Re: Unity candle/outdoor ceremony

Wouldn't it just depend on how windy it is that day?
I'm not sure I get your question...

I wanted to know if it was hard to light it, of course weather depending. Im on the water in August and trying to figure out if we shouls light it inside before our 1st dance or see what happens outside.

Re: Unity candle/outdoor ceremony

they sell tall glass holders to put the unity candle in so that it will stay lighted even in the event of wind. Check at your local craft store or any place that sells candles.

Re: Unity candle/outdoor ceremony

We had a unity candle for our outdoor ceremony. I had bought a hurricane but in all the last-minute craziness, forgot to give it to them...our candle did not stay lit- it's very windy on the water Bottom line is: if you do your cermony on the water, make sure you have a hurricane

Re: Unity candle/outdoor ceremony

SIL tried to do this... it just wouldn't stay lit even with the hurricane vase. all the weddings were i have seen this done, it just doesn't stay lit or it's hard to light and people are standing there for 2 minutes trying to get the lighter to go!
