How many carats is your engagement ring?

I just read an article saying due to the economic climate 'the half-carat is the new three carat'. It made me wonder... how big is your ring?

Oh, wow. I see you're new, this topic creates much drama, it gets really ugly and usually ends up with the whole post getting pulled.

How about we try to not start drama and just answer the question. Mine is 1 carat brilliant cut center, with .125 each on the baguettes. Total weight 1.25 carats.

Everyones tastes are different and everyones fingers are different! I have a size 4.75 finger and asked my fiance not to get a large center stone. I see some that are beautiful but for not for me.

I have a beautiful three stone that I picked out with the center 'only' a half carat and I tend to catch it on my drawer at work ever so often such a klutz I am

If people don't like the question... they shouldn't answer it- no need to be offended...

When we were ring hunting it helped me to know the sizes/shapes of other people's rings to help me find what I wanted... there was never any judgment...

Mine is 1.5 cushion cut with micropave band...


ETA: It's not like we don't post pics of our rings...

I chose the setting and told FH to choose the center stone based on what he could afford and what he liked so that it wasn't like I picked a ring and said, 'go buy that'. I only told him that I liked princess cut stones and he did the rest. The center stone is the most expensive part of the ring so I thought that was the right thing to do because I honestly didn't know what he had in mind for a budget. In the end he chose a 1.5 carat center stone and the setting is about another 1.5 because it is an eternity band. So all together it is about 3 carats.

Mine is about 1, I have very small hands people always think it is bigger BUT has been passed down in FHs family so I could carre less about its size - it is just so exciting to wear it.

Mine is 1crat also passed down from FH mother so i didnt even care about the size. :)

My center stone is 1.5 brilliant cut and then I have stones on the band that are graduated, like they get smaller as they go down for another .75. Total is 2.25.

I don't see the big deal with the question?
