Speaking of Ovulation........... a question

For those on BCP or used to be on BCP....... even though we don't ovulate while on, do we get ovulation 'symptoms'?

I feel like I am ovulating sometimes, but obviously I'm not if I'm on BCP right???????
I'm totally confused.......

I thought I had some symptoms while on the BCP.
Specifically I noticed the change in CF. Not sure if I was imagining things though....?

jeng - what is CF?

What I've been noticing is just a slight discharge (sorry if TMI) but only for like 3 days and if I look at the calendar it's usually smack in the middle of my cycle.

Also (and I have no idea if this is a real syptom or not) but my breasts get tender - I thought this would be PMS, but in the middle of my cycle?

My body is acting crazy lately.

DH tells me is b/c we are TTC soon and I'm going psycho

CF is cervical fluid, see I do not think a woman on BCP will get CG discharge, this I do not know. You should ask your gyn these questions.

If you do get these discharge Liz what is it like, egg white, lotion, powdery etc???

Not thick, just slimy kind of clear - and it's not very much - just a little, but it' s only for a few days so it's confusing.....

Sorry....CF= cervical Fluid.

I noticed a change in CF, after knowing what to look for while still on BCP. I didn't track when it happened though or for how long. From what I have read/learned, there will be an increase and a change in consistency.

While on the pill my chest was also tender in the middle of the month. Not sure if this is a sign of ovulation though.

This is my first month off. I don't know how long it will take my body to regulate, but I'm interested in comparing my 'symptoms' off BCP.

You don't sound psycho at all! My DH is in for a rude awakening. I haven't had PMS for years! He better tread lightly

I guess we have similar symptoms. Maybe they are just BCP symptopms????

Is the Cervical fluid the stuff that discharges?
I am so clueless, and I should be ashamed of myself.
I have the 'taking charge of your fertility' book at home, maybe I should read it !!

I can't wait to hear the difference between now and then. You know sometimes you could get pg directly off the pill

You are so funny about the PMS. DH has never known me off the pill, so I know EXACTLY what you're talking about

Yes, CF is the stuff that discharges. I've heard the CF at ovulation is similar in consistency to egg whites (sorry if TMI)

I don't have that book, but my girlfriend does. Between my discussions with her and this board I feel like I've read it already

Yeh, I've heard that you are more fertile right after stopping the BCP. I guess it is still a possibility, but I don't think so.

We were planning on starting to TTC in January, but I went off the BCP last month to allow a few months beforehand, but let's just say we're not not TTC either

Liz both things are prettty normal for BCP. Usually it doesn't change much after you've been on the same pill for a while. Did you switch recently?

Tammy - I've been on the same BCP for a while now, but this has been happenning for a while. I was just clueless before and didn't realize the BCP stopped ovulation totally so I never gave it much though until hanging around this board
