Bridesmaid Gifts-$$$$

Hi. I know I am full of $$ questions today. What is the average price to spend on a bridesmaid/flowergirl gift?? I have 12 BM, 2 JB and 3 FG. I got the BM and JB evening bags (all different that match their dresses) and my aunt is hand making embroidered hankies for them. Total I probably will spend $30 per girl. Is that cheap?? Thanks!!

Thanks....

That's perfect Concetta. It's the thought and idea that counts. I think you made a great choice

I have a bridesmaid that was (by measurement standards) told to order her dress in a size 22!!. She is a 14. Problem: She had a fitting last week and the dress was swimming on her. I said to the manager that this was not the size they should have ordered, but she measured her again and said, "according to the manufacturer, this is what is recommended to order", which was true.. I saw the sheet that stated this. The problem is that the seamstress continued to pin seams down the front of her dress over each leg because there was way too much material to bring to the side seam. My other girls do not have seams down the front so I told her NO! you can't do that. She supposedly is now making "points", which is where you take it in over each leg and then let it flare out. My other girls do not have this and now I'm afraid her dress is going to look totally different. We are going back tonight to have her hem done and I don't know how to handle the situation if the dress looks totally different. Also, she had to pay $35.00 extra for the bigger size/more material, which they are basically cutting out of the dress. What should I say?

I wish I had another year to plan, but I can't wait for it to be here already! See you all!

sounds perfect to me

and very personal! good choice!

I have been browsing and it seems that they will cost around $4-5. If you wrap or add little touches yourself you can really save money. I was thinking of attaching table seating cards to the wrapped boxes so I can be sure that I have given the favors to the correct people. I mean, so that I can be sure that each couple or single is getting the favor. Not sure yet.

That's the key - Above and Beyond. "TIP" is derived from "To Insure Promptness" and should be to thank someone for extra-special service that is beyond what you contracted for. The only possible reason for having the Maitre'D tip separate is that you MIGHT avoid extra tax on that. I was told that when it's Gratuities included then they have to Tax you on the gratuities because the catering hall is taking the money as part of the overall fee and is taxed on it.

That's perfect,especially with 12 BM +.

About 150. I guess that comes out to $1pp. You're right, I probably don't have to tip him.

Sheesh!! 12 BM's?? YIKES!!! Sound like a great idea to me. I am still debating what to get for my girls.

To top it off, they want all these things and I fly in on next Wednesday morning for our Saturday wedding and no one is taking off work to be with me, can you believe that. I feel so alone, but I'm looking forward to the honeymoon and being with my husband.

Family Sucks sometimes (most of the time in my case)

I have only my matron of honor and a jr bridesmaid (16 yrs) so I can go a little higher. I was thinking of pashmina shawls or scarves (not sure which yet). I work with another bride to be and she just showed me a very cute idea. Here is the website:

THANKS Bridesmaid Gifts-$$$$

Thanks for all of the feedback. I just didnt want anyone in the Bridal Party to think I was being cheesy or cheap. Happy Planning!!!

You can save $$ buy buying just the favors and wrapping them yourselves...it's something fun to get your bridesmaids involved in as well:)

Gifts for Readers????

I've found gifts for the BM's and GM's but what about gifts for people doing readings, etc? Should I get them gifts? I'm not sure what to do. Let me know what you think.

Thanks. Teresa

Gifts for Readers????

I am not giving a gift to the readers - since one of the readers was my brother, the other is the best man.

I know two people who did readings, and neither one of them received gifts from the bride & groom.

I do suggest playing games. They didn't have games at mine and I wish they did, it would have made it more interactive. Some guest didn't know each other.

Gifts for Readers????

You can just give them a boutineer or corsage at the ceremony. That's a nice thought and makes them feel special. The cost is next to nothing. That's what I did.

Did you try Adriennes??? I thought they had a huge selection of styles and colors. They are on W. Main Street in Islip. Good Luck!!!
