Major Reception booking problem.

I called this place that I am interested in booking and, I want a wedding for 120. Anyway he told me that the date I wanted was available. I went to the city today and now he tells me that the date may be unavailable. Isn't that rude??

On another note, they have weddings there for under 120 but he won't budge. I know that they have weedings there for 90. Its a desirable location but I think its unfair that I should have to be upheld to what I said over the phone and he can't even hold the date.

First, he said the room was available and then he said it wasn't for the same date once you got there?
Then he said he wouldn't be able to accomodate your party because of the size?
Sounds to me like you may want to look around a bit more. You have to feel really comfortable with the place and the people you are dealing with. Maybe you can speak with someone else if you really are interested in that place.Good luck.

definitely try to talk to a manger or owner if you can...and threaten to go elsewhere - hopefully they will not only budge but also throw in extras...oh and be sure to emphasize how many of your 'friends' are getting married too and that there is no way they would now consider this place!

If someplace gave me trouble before I even booked, I wouldn't want to see what happens after or on the wedding date. I would keep looking. What area were you looking?

As the other girls said, if you get this kind of run-around before you even book, who knows what you will have to deal with once they have your deposit! What type of place are you looking for? Any specific area? Maybe we can offer suggestions.
