Re: Slightly Tacky question regarding band prices...
Usually a FW band will run you anywhere from $5000-6500 depending on the band.Sometimes if you contact the band directly, you can get a better price since you are not booking through the agency, and therefore you don't have to pay the agency any money.

Depends upon the time of year. For your time...figure on 5500-8000.

Re: Slightly Tacky question regarding band prices...
Time of year shouldn't have anything to do with it. Either a band is booked or it isn't.Many bands that are with wedding agencies also play out in bars and clubs, so when they are not booked for a wedding, they are still making money that night. Many of them are also with OmniPop, who books bars and clubs.

Yes, they are cheaper in the afternoon. I called for quotes from Franklin Wayne when I was looking, and asked for November and got 5-6000. For May and September I got 5500-8000. Just passing on what I was given. If it's different now...great! I thought this was lousy, and didn't book with them.

Well that stinks Misty - they shouldn't be doing that. That's why we went right to the band we wanted and booked straight through them. It was better for us ($$) and we dealt with the band directly.

Re: Slightly Tacky question regarding band prices...
I have also found that band prices vary by time of year - off season is definitely cheaper.

Re: Slightly Tacky question regarding band prices...
FW bands run between $5000 and $6500. However there is negotiating room with any and every band, if your wedding is off season or within the next 6 months. Usually bands (not specifically FW bands) will reduce their price by $500, sometimes you can get more off, if you are good at haggling.

Re: Slightly Tacky question regarding band prices...
Amazing that there seems to be such confusion, cuz I shopped the Franklin Wayne bands extensively and the prices are ABSOULUTELY between $5500 and $6200. NONE higher....so, if you doubt me, just give them a call tomorrow. And, the bands I heard were all great!!
