Bridgeview Yacht Club
I went to look here last night. I LOVED it I am just aliitle nervous because you don't hear much about it, especially in here. I also tasted the food, and it was excellent. Has anyone bben to a edding there or know anything about this place. I am also concerned because my reception has to be done by 11:00 because the club opens at 12:00. This is only on SAt. nights. I already have the church booked so I have to stick to JUly 16, 2005. Any feedback would be marvelous!!

Re: Bridgeview Yacht View
I did because (don't laugh) I met my FH there four years ago and we thought it would be a trip if we had our reception there. Loved look of the tent, the food and being on the water was something we were looking for. The BIG drawback was the club opening at 12. What happens to the waiters that are there to serve you and you guest???? We were told by the end of the night we will have fewer guest so it will not matter...that's crap! If you can work that out with them go for it! It's does look beautiful when it is all done up. Good luck!

Re: Bridgeview Yacht View
One of my friends had their wedding there-she said it was great until the end-they RUSHED out everyone so fast to prepare for the club-people will still there and they were taking away tables and running around-she said she felt bad cause evryone wanted to at least just talk a bit and they were told they had to leave-besides that, she said food was great-place was beautiful.

Re: Bridgeview Yacht View
I was at a classmates wedding there once. It was alright except that , like everyone else we were rushed out. I just felt like a wedding is once in a lifetime event and it should be more important than some teenybopper's club nite out. Just my opinion. (The cake was delish.)

Re: Bridgeview Yacht View
Thank you for your honest opinions. I am still thinking. I just want it to be the best day of my life with all the respect of a great place. It is such a beautiful pkace. During the tour it sounded so perfect that I knew there was going to be something wrong with it. WAs the wedding GREAT other then the rushing? What time did the weddings end?

I have no experience with the Bridgeview Yacht Club, but that rushing out happens everywhere. IMO it's worse then a last call at a bar.

WE booked there and cancel it because of that and we were told we had to be out by 10pm for a sat night wedding. My brother hangs out there on Sat during the summer and he said do you really want to come out to a bunch of guidos in black shirts on line screaming because they are dying to get in.
I cancelled it, your choice

Re: Bridgeview Yacht Club
Do not do it!!! Be very careful... I have a friend who waiters there and he is embarrassed by the scene of events that occur when it is time for the club to open. He said he literally has to take the tables out from under the bride and centerpieces, lights immediately go on and everyone must leave as huge bouncers walk right in. If this does not bother you, the place and food is wonderful. However, I know that at my wedding I don't plan on being kicked out. I want to mingle as I say my goodbyes in a relaxed environment, and not to the thumping bass of the club! Please don't be offended, I am just being honest.

Re: Bridgeview Yacht Club
My sister was married at Bridgeview October 01 - they did an incredible job - I don't think any of us knew about the club afterwards as that's no our scene - and it didn't interfere with the wedding what-so-ever. I can say that some of the guests came right from the church and had to wait for the Cocktail hour to start - they had arranged a 7 start time and people were there by 6:30 - I don't know how other places would handle. Other than that, it was great. Iknow of two of her friends that have married there as well after seeing my sister's wedding...

Re: Bridgeview Yacht Club
I think it depends on your month. In Oct. , Nov.or Dec. the club scene there is quiet or closed therefore no rushing!! In the summer months the club scene there is out of control busy, parking and leaving may be difficult as all the clubs on that street start to get crowded. The month really makes the difference there. Summer is tough.

Re: Bridgeview Yacht Club
Is there a lot of drunk people around because of Patty Mgees? My father is worried that drunk peopl will be screaming outside the wedding. He said he doesn't want tp pay allthis money to have drunk people outside the wedding.I really like the place, but wish it was Friday so I wouldn't hav these problems. My FH LOVES this place.

Re: Bridgeview Yacht Club
See that is what I would worry about besides the club goers at Bridgeview, what about the other places. Also people arrive by boat to go to the club. You mat want to ask the BM what effect if any that will have on your wedding. I dont remember well but how is the view from the ballroom? Can you see the docks and boats or just the canal? Maybe the guests arriving by boat wont even interfere. Good luck.

Re: Bridgeview Yacht Club
I had my wedding at Bridgeview Yacht Club in June of this year (I havent posted yet because I have been so busy). People are still raving about the wedding. We had our wedding on a friday because we didnt want to deal with having the reception over at 10pm.We had the wedding on a friday and it was over at 12:30.
Everything was definately top notch. Everything was taken care of and all the worrying we did (because we hadnt heard anything) was a waste of time. The comments we're getting back are along the lines of 'best wedding we have ever been too', 'best food, service, etc'
It was a great time. If you have any further questions I will try to answer when I iget a chance.
