E-Party Review - Timber Point CC More Pics (now posted !!!) Sorry link wasn't working!!!

Overall, the day went well, and Timber Point was very accomodating. My rating for them is B+ and here is why:

Pros:
-Because of the unpromising weather on Sunday, our Maitre D Steve made it possible for the passed hors devours hour to be inside as well as outside.

-Steve and the staff were very accomodating and so nice- they were always making sure that everything was running smoothly, that we had food from the buffet without getting on line, and that our drinks were never empty. They even put out many votive candles all over the tables and even on the entry tables to add to the centerpieces.

-The CC and grounds are truly breathtaking- my guests spent so much time wandering the grounds.

-Food was plentiful (two cavings of ham and roast beef, manicotti, eggplant rollatini, seafood fra diavlo, sirloin w/ crispy onions, chicken francaise, penne ala vodka, chicken fingers and french fries for the kids, pasta salad, fresh mozzarella w/ tomato, cheese display, vegetable crudite display, fruit display, chicken caesar salad, bread; and hors devours were creative (tiny stuffed tomatos w/cheese, roast beef roll-ups with chive cream cheese, sliced tuna on cracker, meat pies etc. . . ). Apple crisp ala mode was yummy for dessert!

Cons

- There was a party that ended one hour before mine started and they were crammed for set-up time. The room was not completely set when guests arrived, but thy were so pre-occupied with socializing, taking in the view, drinking, and enjoying hors devours that they did not notice.

-The food was okay, but a bit commercial tasting and was not consistantly good (carvings were good as were all the cold platters, chicken fingers, steak, seafood fra diavlo. Manicotti, Eggplant, and Penne ala Vodka IMO were not very good, chicken Francaise so,so. Hors Devours I heard were very good. I didn't eat much in terms of hors devours, but I tasted everything from the buffet.) My food was a bit on the cooler side, but I thought it was because I didn't get to it right away, FSIL told me that some of her food was kind of cold and she sat down with her plate and ateright away.

-Our Maitre D was our bartender as well. If he needed to take care of something, thebar was left unattended (sometimes w/ people waiting). Ended up a bit humorous- FI started bartending for a few minutes (which he has no real experience with) allowed for cute pics.

I really love the actual setting of Timber Point and the service was excellent. Everyone we dealt with there was extremely wonderful to us, and in terms of that they get an A, but the food (which IMO is very important) was nothing to rave about, but don't get me wrong, it was okay, just not consistantly good.

Audrey's Bakery: A+

We got our cake brought in (yellow/white cake w/ cannoli filling) from them as well as assorted cookie trays. Everything was delicious and our cake was so pretty.

Sensational Sounds (Mike): A+

He was very warm and friendly, ad really tried his hardest to get everyone on the dance floor. Unfortunately, the majority was so wrapped up in socializing, taking in the scenery, and eating, that they didn't have much interest in dancing. But, he did do a wonderul job!!!

I will post more pics when I have a chance to scan them, but for now here arejust a few from my digi -cam (sorry if they come out blurry)

me with my FI's nieces, also 2 of our FGs (the two girls on either side of me), and his cousin's daughter.

Re: E-Party Review (W/ few pics) - Timber Point CC

Us at the dais:

I did the centerpieces myself- I cut the heads off of sunflowers and floated them in bowl vases. I scattered fake ivy leaves around the bases of the bowls.

I have many pictures (although, the day went so fast that I didn't get a chance to get a pic of everything I wanted to), I just have to scan them . . .

Re: E-Party Review (W/ few pics) - Timber Point CC

Thanks so much for posting this review. I am having my ceremony and reception at TP on October 1, 2004. I am surpised about the food because when I went to their showcase I really liked the food. I am a big food person too, I am little concerned.

I love your centerpieces. Did you save money by doing them yourself? Where did you get the sunflowers?

Post more pics, I would love to see more!

Re: E-Party Review (W/ few pics) - Timber Point CC

The day really was awesome- we had the best time-and I do blame the food on the fact that it was a buffet, so food does tend to ge cold from a buffet. Also, we are very picky eaters and are very used to authentic Italian cooking, hence my comments regarding the italian dishes. I would definetly still recommend Timber Point and might consider it for future affairs if I needed to rent out a catering facility.

Here are some more pictures . . .
