That's really great! Have you found it to be hard? I'm considering doing it, but nobody i actually know has done it, so everything I read about it is in magazines. I'd love to hear more from someone who is actually on it.

Re: Today marks 1 week on the South Beach Diet and I've lost
The first three or four days, my stomach was flip flopping from sugar and carb withdrawal but since then I feel great! I have double the energy that I used to. I didn't exercise much the first week because I didn't want to overdo it but I started again yesterday and it was great! This diet is low carb, low fat. The only thing I miss eating is fruit which you need to give up for the first 2 weeks.

I am going to try this when we are back from VEGAS!!! (I couldn't do the no drinking thing there)..It looks like a totally doable way of eating and similar to Atkins, just less-fat.

Re: Today marks 1 week on the South Beach Diet and I've lost
Congrats on your loss!!!I've been pretty bad on WW lately, haven't gotten weighed in a month!
Is there anyway to do this diet without the book??? Is it pretty much like Atkins. Seems to me that the first two weeks you can eat pretty much NOTHING.
What kind of meal plan were you following?

Re: Today marks 1 week on the South Beach Diet and I've lost
WW says that it is physiologically impossible to lose more than 2 lbs of fat in a week. The rest your losing is water and breaking down valuable muscle. I have a hard time believing that a 7 lb weight loss in ONE week is hardly more than water. No healthy lifestyle plan eliminates food, you can have anything in moderation. I dont trust a diet that tells you to avoid this or that. That may work in the short term, but long term? Forget it.

Re: Today marks 1 week on the South Beach Diet and I've lost
It is definately a lot of water! My face is no longer swollen and neither are my ankles. The first two weeks you lose big and then it slows to under 3 pounds a week like any other diet. This diet is supposed to lose belly fat first and I am not seeing that so much yet.

Re: Today marks 1 week on the South Beach Diet and I've lost
Hold up a sec...Did you say your ankles were swollen? That concerns me... Young people (who are not pregnant), should NOT have swelling in thier ankles (or thier faces for that matter). Do you have high blood pressure? Do you get enough protien? Do you have anyone who can take your blood pressure for you? Otherwise you can go to CVS and take it in the machine. If its high, than see your doctor right away. Go take it soon, and let me know how it went..Welcome New Vendors
