ortho tri-cyclen
i have been on this pill for over a year, with virtually no side effects. lately though, i would say for the past 5-6 months, a few days before i get my period my boobs get *huge*... now, i'm large-chested to begin with and i can deal with some tenderness, but during this time I swell up so I look like I was just breast feeding a small nation. does anyone have this seemingly abnormal hugeness? after my period and i start week 1 of new pill pack i'm normal. thanks girls (.Y.)

Re: ortho tri-cyclen
I take Ortho-Tri-Cyclen - been on it sjust over 5 years now. I don't have swollen breasts, though it might do me some good!
Sometimes I have tenderness, maybe one day during the week prior to my period, but I always had that.Of course all meds affect each person individually. Talk to your gyno about it. I don't think you need to be concerned, but be sure to chat with him/her to be sure everything is okay.

Re: ortho tri-cyclen
Lori - LOL!!!!!!! I'm sorry to hear your boobs are bigger than usual....maybe pass some my way
I'm on Ortho-cyclen and mine get very tender and swollen and even for me its uncomfortable. I would call the doc and let them know - I always do. Sometimes after awhile a pill doesn't work as good for your body as your body and hormone levels are always changing.
I hope for your sake they aren't swollen my wedding day- you might give my brother a heart attack LOL

Re: ortho tri-cyclen
I dont know about the ortho tri-cyclen's, but i take the ortho cyclens with no problems.Actually I do have an issue though. I've been going to planned parenthood for years and years now -- I love the pill prices (where else can you get a pack for 10 bucks!)
Well, I went back for my yearly exam and they stopped selling the ortho-cyclen's. The doctor gave me a prescription, but it would cost me almost 40 dollars a month. I can pay it, that's not the issue.. it just hurts paying that much now after paying 10 dollars as a month for so long.
They also gave me a different brand of pills too, one that they do carry. Desogen or something.
I dont know if I should stay with the same thing, or try to switch over to the new ones... I'm going to take a cruise to Bermuda in early Sept.. so I'm not going to switch before that, in case I turn into psycho-b1tch or something.. but after.. I'm so unsure.
Does anyone have any experience with Desogens?
Bleh.

Re: ortho tri-cyclen
I take ortho tricyclen but Ive never had that problem. Do you take anything else that it may be adversely interacting with? Call you Dr., maybe you need to change your type of BC.

Re: ortho tri-cyclen
BlazeSyth - do you go through an insurance company to get your pills? My insurance co-pay is $10 per month but if I do it through their mail order program, I can get 3 months for $10. You should check out if your insurance company (if you use one and they cover it) has a program like this!

Re: ortho tri-cyclen
I took Desogen for six years. I really found it to be without a lot of bad monthly side effects. But, and this is a big but, I developed a severe blood clot in my leg (one of the listed possible side effects of any hormonal drug) and now can no longer take any kind of BCP. Believe me I miss being able to take it!!!!

Re: ortho tri-cyclen
I took Desogen for about 6 mos and I had to stop b/c it made me an emotional wreck! I swear, you could not look at me sideways, otherwise I would cry hysterically.

Re: ortho tri-cyclen
My co-pay is 25 bucks... so I'd need to spend at least 25.00 a month. Good point on the 3 month mailaway tho, I'll need to check on that! Thanks.I think after I come back from vacation I'll try the Desogens.. I've heard some bad reviews of them, but I think all BC drugs have some bad reviews because they don't agree with everyone.
I just want to make sure I stay on the same exact cycle... I planned the wedding date around not having that time of the month during the wedding. LOL
If after 3 or 4 months I'm a basket case or break out like crazy, I'll pay the extra cash.
Thanks everyone!
