Back to Curves? A little hesitant . . Edited!!!

I have not been to curves in nearly two months and have a one year membership! What a waste. I haven't been back because I felt I was getting too bulky! I wasn't losing weight, nor inches and I was not looking lean at all. I am looking leaner now since I haven't been going and would like to start again, but am a little nervous. For those of you who remember, I am the girl whocomplained about the anxiety medication. I have been off ofit for almost two months and feel great! I think I am going to go to curves today- maybe I won't do as many reps on the toning machines and will focus more on th cardio aspect of it.

Do you work on different body parts certain days (like a cycle) at Curves?

What was your diet like when you were going?

Re: Back to Curves? A little hesitant . . .

when i joined curves, they warned me that the first month or two my measurements could go up. you are definitely building muscle with their workout, but (for me at least) the muscle is usually hidden under a layer of fat. until you burn off the fat layer, you will appear to be bulkier. i'm only been going a month, but i already see a definite change in my arms and my thighs.

good luck!!!!

At curves the circuit includes machines for various muscle groups and platforms for cardio. I am always focusing on all muscle groups with every workout. When I was going I was following low carb, and then I switched over to weight watchers my last two weeks before I stopped.

Re: Back to Curves? A little hesitant . . .

If you keep it up no matter what your size or weight gets to be, you will eventually start to loose.

Personally, I don't think you should train body parts two days in a row. If you are, you aren't going heavy enough. That's just my opinion based on how I train.

Re: Back to Curves? A little hesitant . . .

Snowboardgirl, at curves you dont work with weights, its all about resistence. so, you can push your mussles harder by doingmore reps, but you can't increase the weight.

they say its supposed to make your mussles leaner, rather than bulky.

they also recommend going to curves 3-4 days a week, not typically every day. so it is pretty much an every other day thing. the girl where i go recommended doing a straight cardio workout on the off days, like walking/running or something.

Re: Back to Curves? A little hesitant . . Edited!!!

Girls- I went to curves for the first time in two months. I got remeasured and am so MAD at myself!!! I felt that I had actually gotten leaner since I was there and my clothes are fitting looser, but the woman That measured me said that I stayed the same except my bust increased by 1 & 1/2 inches (probably because of a different bra), my thigh increased by 1/2 an inch, and I gained four pounds!!! I am so mad right now, but I guess I just have to consider this a fresh start. Now just to decide which type of diet I am going to follow- WW, ATKINS, or the ZONE. This stinks-
