Here is a very simple recipie for 'Death by Chocolate' that my sister makes. It is awesome.*******************************
Chocolate, oor devils food cake mix whichever you like.
1 package of chocolate instant pudding mix
1/2 cup of kahlua, (if you don't have kahlua you can use strong brewed black
coffee)
carton of cool whip
package KitKat chopped it fine.
1. Bake the cake and put aside to cool completely. Once cooled just
tear cake into pieces.
2. Make the instant pudding
3. Chop the wafer bars
In a bowl layer cake, add some kahula, add pudding, cool whip and wafer
bars, all in layers.
Continue the above step until all your ingredients are finished. It's like
making a lasagna. Once it's all done, put in fridge to chill.
ENJOY
Just for variety, you can mix chocolate and vanilla cake, pudding etc. You
can also add some walnuts, it gives it a nice crunchy flavor

Suzanne's Apple crisp (soooooooo good!)It is very very easy,
Take 4-6 granny smith apples (depending on size)
peal them, core them and slice into half moons ( this is easier done with an apple peeler/slicer, that i got for 14.00 its WORTH the money!)
Put them in a pan glass pan is ok,or even a pie plate is better
Then pour about 3/4 of a box of Yellow cake mix on top of the apples.
then melt 1-2 sticks of butter and pour all of the top,
then pour cinnomin sugar (i like to make my own, then i can control the taste) all over the top
bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until the sugar is getting crispy..
serve warm with ice cream or cool whip!

I am planning on making this Key Lime Pie for a party next week. It sounds easy. For crust
1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs from 9 (2 1/4-inch by 4 3/4-inch) crackers
2 tablespoons sugar
5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For filling
1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
4 large egg yolks
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons fresh or bottled Key lime juice (if using bottled, preferably Manhattan brand)
For topping
3/4 cup chilled heavy cream
Make crust:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Stir together graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and butter in a bowl with a fork until combined well, then press mixture evenly onto bottom and up side of a 9-inch (4-cup) glass pie plate.
Bake crust in middle of oven 10 minutes and cool in pie plate on a rack. Leave oven on.
Make filling and bake pie:
Whisk together condensed milk and yolks in a bowl until combined well. Add juice and whisk until combined well (mixture will thicken slightly).
Pour filling into crust and bake in middle of oven 15 minutes. Cool pie completely on rack (filling will set as it cools), then chill, covered, at least 8 hours.
Make topping:
Just before serving, beat cream in a bowl with an electric mixer until it just holds stiff peaks. Serve pie topped with cream.

Well...if you want store bought....try the Black Forest Bake Shop on Wellwood. They have the cutest cakes ( made in the shape of a hamburger or watermellon). That would be great for a bbq. We got the hamburger cake last weekend, it was great!!!!

Homemade Strawberry ShortcakeI used a box yellow cake mix and followed directions for two 8' layer cakes.
I then beat two cups heavy cream and two T sugar to get whip cream.
Then put one layer, cover w/ whip cream add strawberries. Add second layer and repeat.
It was very good and so easy. Since June is Strawberry season it was great!

I make a varation of the Straw Shortcake. Try adding Vanilla pudding and/or poundcake to it! Mmm Mmm Good - Its a HUGE hit at our BBQs - so light and refreshing not quite as heavy as the chocolate version which I make with Oreos at holidays time

mmm...My frozen yogurt pie-----you take a graham cracker crust(the store bought one)......mix 2 small things of yogurt with a whole tub of cool whip...(I think its 16 oz...the regular size).....blend them well, spread them into the graham cracker crust, and freeze overnight...depending on if you want it still frozen, only take out an hour before serbving, if you want it softer, take it out earlier....I did it with key lime yogurt and put a few slices of limes on top for garnish...its really good and soo simple!!!
