Re: wine cork place card holders???

I've never seen it but it sounds cool. I guess you could check craft stores or do a google search for the corks. You will need something to attach the cards to - a pin with some sort of clip attached. That would really work if you were doing wine, wine bottle stoppers, corkscrew or wine charm favors.

Re: wine cork place card holders???

I did a search and I found a cork comoany right in Hauppague. I bet you could buy the corks pretty cheap from them, then stick a pin in the cord with the name tag attached! I think it would be a very unsual idea!!

Re: wine cork place card holders???

I have seen 'real' champgne corks with a slit in them to place your seating card. It was in Marha Stewart and looked cute.

Re: wine cork place card holders???

HI..my girlfriend and I played around with some corks a couple of weekends ago for this idea..we tried putting a slit in a cork and puttting the card in ala martha stewart stlye but it was not very balanced that way. I could envision dominoes on the table. We ended up glue gunning (love those things) 3 together in different lineups for support..i will try to post pics of them later. I think the pin idea sounds cool too but might be the same problem with support.
my question is since people won't really keep them..is it more annoying to have a place card you can't juts put in your pocket...that is my issue wiht them now (after we glued 100 together =)

Re: wine cork place card holders???

Ok..here goes my pic post..lets see if I can do this =)...Again the cards are much more secure in this layout of corks but I am not sure if it is too big and cumbersome for people to get. Also wino1 we had a large collection of corks that a bunch of people had been collecting which was good since this takes more this way.. let me know what you think..
oh shoot it is saying it is too big.how do i get a picture smaller?

Re: wine cork place card holders???

Take 2..
the one under the card is stacked the other way on top of each other. We alternated them!

Re: wine cork place card holders???

Great job! I really like how they look, and i don't think they're too big, they'll easily go into someone's pocket. Just think of all of the girls who are using the candle place cards, you certainly can't put them in your pocket, and so far, nobody has had a guest complain. (that I know of)

Re: wine cork place card holders???

We had actually been collecting corks for a over a year. I had a feeling I would do soemthing with them and I put the word out to my mom who is a big wine drinker and we were good to go! That is not much help to you though..I would suggest maybe calling some of the local LI vineyards and asking if they had corks you could pick up or maybe a liquor store after a wine tasting etc. Did that commack place sell corks? Maybe even a michael's has plain corks you could use or at least supplement as one of the corks in the 3...You will also need a glue gun! Best of Luck and let me know if I can help with anything else

I like that idea. We're thinking of doing wine as our favor- so the cork idea fits right in! Thanks!
