Painting Ideas

so whenever we get into our house, really the only thing we are doing right away is painting and putting up crown molding...

in our dinning room we are doing crown molding with a chair rail...

we want a darker color on the bottom and a lighter one on top!

any idea of a good color scheme?
pictures...names of colors! anything would be helpful!

We saw a beautiful sienna brown bottom with white chair rail and the top a earthy green. It was gorgeous...

Thats what we have in our house...a nice green and a beige with chocolate accents!

I also love brown with a blue!

Our bedroom is blue and brown and so is our bathroom. But hte bathroom has bead board base in a cream... still love it...

we dont have our own dinning room furniture, right now we are just usuing my brothers old table and chairs...its a glass top...

the next furniture on our list to buy is a dinning room table and we will most likely get dark wood color or black.

i was thinking 2 different shades of green...dh said maybe grey colors...but def with white crown molding and chair rail...

this picture is hard to tell the color, but we have a big bay window like that...what do you think??

def agree w/ the suggestions of brown or green.
the shade of green in that picture look perfect actually!
anything neutral really.
gray is okay - but i think something w/ a lil more oomph may be better.

we are painting our living room peanut butter...so i wanted to stay away from the browns

what other colors besides green??

what about blues, have you looked at behrs website? They have awesome paint its the only one we will use.
We just bought a yellow for the kitchen :)

our living room flows into our dining room, its all one big room, so we have it all the same color, its a mocha color but one wall in the dining room is red

this is the living room/dining room color

If I ever have a formal dining room I'd want to do a deep burgundy or this color called Italiano Rose, I think it was Benjamin Moore. Either would look great with a white chair rail.

I'm in love with that grayish purple color....i saw a picture of a room painted that color of LIF a few months ago
I'm hoping DH will let me paint some of the rooms in our new apartment...

What about a nice slate blue?

That's what I am doing my dining room.

you can do slate blue and white... or slate blue and another shade of blue or a whie/blue color.

Slate blue looks great with, white, black, dark brown.

yeah thats the problem...i have no idea what color it is! i just googled blue dining rooms and that picture came up! it doesnt say a color name or anything
