Ladies, I should have posted this a couple of days ago, but talk to your DJ's...
I went to a wedding this past weekend.(Not in Long Island and not a Dj any of you are using)
The place was very nice, food was so so,service was good, centerpieces were pretty, yada yada yada, but the DJ was not very good. I don't know if the bride requested a certain type of music and he was adhering to her request, or he just could not read the crowd. I only danced 3 times during a 4 hour timespan and that is so NOT me. The music just did not flow.
I know that we stress over so many details, flowers, table numbers, favors etc. Let me tell you once those initial ooh's and aah's are over people really do not give a d@mn. People want to party and have a good time. So make sure you and your DJ plan a good time for your guests.
Now this is one more thing for me to worry about.

Thank you!!! I'm sorry that you didn't get to dance. Isn't it amazing how much music and dancing make a difference in how much fun you have?

Yes, Kelly. As I said earlier we lose sight of the bigger picture because we are caught up in all of the other details.

So true. The song list I gave my DJ is two pages long. I specifically told him...just keep people dancing...even if you have to stray from my list...I don't care as long as everyone's having fun!

I gave my e-party dj a list of songs to play and not to play. He played songs that I didn't write on the Play list and people were still dancing away! A real DJ knows how to read the crowd and goes from there.

I so agree w/you nrvbrd, make sure to get an awesome dj.I paid more than I thought I would for my DJ, but I've seen them in action and that is the BEST recommendation of all
