Advice on my save the date cards!
I really want to incorporate our dog, Sophie into some aspect of our wedding. Since the actual wedding is going to be formal, there doesn't seem to be many opportunities. So I figured the save the date card might be one feasible way! What do you guys think? I have tried to come up with a saying, but unfortunately, the card will only hold a couple of lines of writing. I would love a short rhyme or poem, but I can't think of any. Any advice would be appreciated.
Also, should STD cards have our last names. There are going to be 200+ guests and I certainly don't know all of them. But can't they figure it out from the return address on the envelope?

Re: Advice on my save the date cards!
am - What can I say...I LOVE IT. These are so cute. FH had huge smile on when I showed him. I think this is such a cute idea. I couldn't get my dog to sit like that if I tried.I would say if you know all of your guests personally that you can leave out your last names. They can look at the return address if they are confused.
SO CUTE -

Adorable! Can't think of a short saying, but I don't think you need one-- I think the pic says it all.

that is the CUTEST!! I love that idea!I'd use your last names - especially if people throw out the envelope, know you & your family but not his (& vice versa)...

Love this idea!! I agree with Jenn .... wait until at least November to send them out. I might even wait until after the holidays. Also ... you may want to leave out the word 'formal' & just say ... invitation to follow.

I wish our pooch was still alive so we could have that made for ourselves. She was such a huge part of my FH's life, it would have been perfect. I say go for it. That is an excellent idea!

I do think you should include your last names, you would be surprised how many people will not think to look at the envelope.

Re: Advice on my save the date cards!
These are sooo cute!! what a great idea. they came out beautifully! we feel the same way about our dogs. actually, they were IN our wedding (even though it was formal!).i don't think you need anything more. although, we included our website address in our STDs and our guests really appreciated it (i got so many calls and emails about how great the website was and how informative). this way if/when some lose the STD card itself, they will have your website. Not sure if you were going to have a website at all, but if you are, you may want to include it on the STD.
Actually, i sent the STD before i found LIWeddings. Was that totally tacky of me to include our website on the STD?? oops, i hope not.
