NWR: Weekend getaway?
Hi ladies,FH and I really need a break. This semester has been particularly stressful on all fronts.We need to get out of this city, but with RH payments, student loan payments and the fact that I'm in school full time, we don't have a lot of extra money right now.
Is there anywhere near NYC (NJ, CT, PA?) within 2-3 hours we could go just for the weekend that wouldn't cost a fortune? I'd like to go over winter break, so it has to be winter friendly and we're not really skiiing people. Some place romantic we could just go to escape and be alone, nice restaurants, kinda low key, maybe some small town shopping or something like that...
And we're totally AC'd out right now, we've been to Atlantic City a billion times... and Foxwoods too...
Any ideas? I'm really going crazy right now, I need to get out of here. TIA!!

Mohonk Mountain House in NY, Spa at Norwich Inn in CT. You could get massages, sit by fire, etc. Norwich Inn is fun b/c it's close to Mohegan and Foxwoods (across the street from one of them, I forget which). We have gone for weekend getaways to both and loved both.You could also do Gurney's in Montauk, Danford's in Port Jeff...

what about out east? there's the outlets, a lot of restaurants, and the wineries..philly might be nice too

poconos... peaceful but with a lot to do.and renting a house is surprisingly super cheap.
