RSVP Vent
I just got the mail and had some RSVP's and finally recieved my grandma's RSVP and its checked declined with no note included, no explanation, nothing. I have hardly any family coming to the family as it is-8 members, it would have been 9 with her and now she's not coming, she helped raised me and she won't be there. I'm sooo annoyed by this, she treated it like she doesn't know me and just checked the box. I know its hard for her to travel here, she lives in Kentucky now, but my mom was going to help her and make all the arrangements for her to come. She was invited to the engagement party-didn't come, sent no card, invited to the shower-didn't come, sent no card, now this. I can't take it.
Thankfully I treat my friends as my family and they will all be there
Thanks for listening

Re: RSVP Vent
Sorry lovie
I know you feel disappointed and I don't blame you. It would have been nice if she acknowledged these things. You know she loves you, and you may want to bring it up to her, let her know it hurt your feelings.

Re: RSVP Vent
The only other family that I speak to in KY is my aunt and her kids and my grandma stopped speaking to her about 6 years ago for some bs issues. My mom said she is going to call her about it tomorrow and find out what is going on.The thing is my grandma is sooo weird that she seems to favor my older good for nothing cousins, instead of us (me, my sister and brother)

Re: RSVP Vent
weddings can be so stressful when it comes to family. You just have to try not to let it bother you....and if you REALLY think its gonna stick with you and bother you, maybe you should call her and see what her deal is?? I dunno, that might be what i'd do...

Awww, I'm sorry.
Did she know that your mom was going to help with her arrangements if she came?

Re: RSVP Vent
I'm so sorry. My FH's grandmother would probably not come if it weren't for my FMIL. My FMIL is driving up to Buffalo and picking her up so that she will be there. No excuses, she knows that her mother normally wouldn't come.
