Nervous about a photo booth
Did you guys find that it took/kept people away from the party (if you've had one or been to a wedding that had one)?

Re: Nervous about a photo booth
i was thinking about a photobooth for our wedding, and never really thought about this question.if the booth is somewhere close to the party, i wouldnt worry about it. its a great aspect to add to a wedding and i dont think guests are going to be spending much time in the booth anyways. how long could it take, right??

Re: Nervous about a photo booth
I've heard mixed things. One person went to a wedding where they had the photobooth the entire wedding and they didn't have a limit as too how many pictures were taken, and she said the dance floor was not as full as it could have been since people were waiting to take more pictures. Another friend went to a wedding where the booth was only there for a limited amount of time, if I remember right, it was there for the CH (1.5 hr CH) and a little time into the reception. Guests were asked to take one round of pictures only, so it was a quicker process.I love the Photobooth idea, but haven't decided if i'm getting it or not yet.

Re: Nervous about a photo booth
We went to a Bat Mitzvah last year where about half the guests were waiting on line to take photos at any given time. But the dance floor never really seemed empty. It was good for the non-dancers to have something to do, and the family was able to post the pics on facebook the next day!

Ditto! Our photobooth will be in the reception room so it's not like guests have to leave the room to use it. I can't wait for it!

Re: Nervous about a photo booth
I think if you have the photobooth open all night long then it won't take away from the wedding.

Re: Nervous about a photo booth
FH and I went to a wedding that had a photobooth over the summer, and it really solidified for us that we wanted to get one. The booth was in the reception room, and people would hop on and off the line to dance, drink etc. It definitely didn't take anyone away from the party. That being said, that was a big wedding (over 300 guests). Ours won't be THAT big, but it will be big, so we're really not worried. There will be plenty of people to do both. If you're having a smaller wedding, I can see it being more of a concern.

Re: Nervous about a photo booth
My FSIL had one at her wedding, and it wasn't even in the same room as the rest of the reception, and the reception was still full and people definitely checked out the photobooth too. They had cute props available and it was a really fun activity. They sent the pictures in the thank you cards to people who took them also which was really cute

Who did you book with?
I am not nervous at all, ours will be right in the reception room and near the bar so hopefully it will be easy to just pop in and take a quick pic!!

Re: Nervous about a photo booth
We're having one and that never really crossed my mind. When we booked my DOC she said that the photobooth is ALWAYS a big hit and never mentioned anything about it taking away from the party. We have unlimited pictures in ours but we also have an attendant so I'm sure they'll keep things moving along.

Re: Nervous about a photo booth
We had a photobooth and it was a huge hit. it was tucked away so it didn't interfer with the flow of things and the dance floor was always full with people. I would highly recommend getting a photobooth.Welcome New Vendors
