Pedestals & FBB Appt Today.

So I met with Flowers by Brian and Pedestals today and I like FBB better not only did FBB make me feel at home but Stacy tried to help me get what I want and still stay with in my budget. Also Pedestals told me they would offer me over 10% discount for getting the lighting and decor on top of flowers and when I got there Virgil said the lady who told me that, was fired... and he only offered me about 8%. Then when I told him that 3800 was too much and that I got a better deal somewhere else he asked me where and I told him FBB (among other places) and he said I shouldnt trust them because he has heard horror stories.. Okay I mean I know Pedestals has a great name and all but when they become snotty and only seem to care about people who spend alot thats when I get turned off. Another thing is FBB offered t have the CP for me to see before I sign but Virgil, being a little nasty said they dont do that but maybe and that he would ask the manager.. I did not feel that he cared unlike FBB. So now I am a little torn because I know at pedestals you do get what you paid for and FBB I am getting a great price but what if the sample centerpiece looks nothing like that at the day of my wedding... I dont know. Have any of you had scary stores from either place??

So things I didnt like from pedestals:
1) the way he spoke about the woman who was fired
2) snotty attitude
3) didnt negotiate my price.considering I was getting so much.

I think you should go with FBB b/c they are customer friendly and they a will to work with your budget. AlsoI haven't heard any bad reviews about them so far. Tell them your vision and i'm sure they will work with you...Ive heard good things about Pedestals as well.If you want to shop around more def check out Flowers & Designs by Gina, or Burton's they are very budget friendly.

i went to a wedding with Pedestals and they definitely do nice work, but I have a feeling their not as budget friendly as some other florists.

I went to the North Ritz Club today to see the venue and the bride who was getting married there was using FBB and they looked very pretty. We saw them setting up and asked what co. it was. I love Pedestals flowers in their ads...

thanks for the info...those were 2 vendors that i have to go look at since my RH requires me to use recommended vendors for flowers...i'm glad i know what to look out for! thanks again

So just to update everyone. I called pedestals to ask some questions about their numbers the girl who took the message said the person I met with would call me back.... Im still waiting...right..haha

So then I spoke to FBB and I will see a sample of the CP's on December 19th, before I sign anything. Im so excited!!

I have to tell you. I went to both and felt the same way. We ended up booking with FBB because they were so accomadating. I had an overall great experience when I met with them. I am sure you will figure it all out. Good luck. Also, how horrible of an experience you had at pedestals. It will all work out.

Sorry you had a bad experience with Pedestals. Maybe it was just a bad day. I am booked with Virgil and loved him both times that I met with him. I have been to four weddings that they have done so then again I was already sold b4 I even begin planning my wedding. I also wanted something more to the left than just flower arrangements everywhere because I am not really that much of a floral type person, so that played into why I went with them too. He also Work within the budget I told him that I did not want to exceed. Giving me ideas on how to get the most bang for my buck with out uneccessarily going over budget.

well I think FBB is pretty much on their level, but I could be wrong.

I dont know he was just very unprofessional especially now that he didnt even call me back. Plus, he talked bad about FBB as well which was a turn off to me and he kept getting up to help a bride, which was fine but then when he got back it seemed like he was spacing out and wasnt really listening. My mom and MOH bought asked me afterwards whether I felt that he actually understood what I wanted. So I know it was not just not me.

I've heard great things about FBB! They definitely do beautiful work.

I have an appt with Pedestals in two weeks --- I'll let you know if I have a similar experience!

I used FBB for our wedding. They were awesome! I also worked with Stacy who was such a doll.

Our CP's came our gorgeous and so did all of our flowers. I had no qualms about booking them and I even looked at other florists.

I don't like when vendors talk negative about others; it is simply unprofessional.

I'm sorry you had this experience with pedestals. i definitely think it depends ont he person you go to there. I actually had the opposite experience with each vendor where pedestals was more friendly and more accomodating on budget and FBB was snotty, didn't seem to care and didn't seem to have anyhting nice..But I think it definitely had to do with who i met with at each place...Vito at Pedestals and I went to the FBB in ozone park and can't remember the guy's name.

Anyway...I would say go with whomever you feel comfortable with. If you are happy with the sample, you shouldn't have problems with the quality ony our big day.
