Cooking Brides..
I'm debating whether or not to register for a slow cooker..I've never seen my parents use one, and I'm afraid I'll probably never use it. However, every1 says its great...Do you have one? If so do you use it? Is it necessary?

Re: Cooking Brides..
It's certainly not a necessity but I have one and I love it. I use it to make pot roast, soup, pulled pork, chicken, all kinds of things! You can do a search and find tons of recipes. IMO, they are worth it.

Re: Cooking Brides..
LOVE my slow cooker!!! it makes everything so much easier... great recipes on allrecipes.com but you can do basically all types of meat plus soups, sauces etc. I set mine up before I go to work, put it on low, and come home to a cooked dinner!

Re: Cooking Brides..
I love mine...it sreally nice because you can prepare something the night before, then in the morning just turn it on and when you get home dinner is all ready
I've used mine only for pulled pork (we only got it recently) but I plan on making soups and stews and such

Re: Cooking Brides..
i always wanted one and thought that it would make dinner so easy and it would be wonderful that dinner would be ready when i get home from work. When I moved in with FH (over a year ago) my aunt gave me her old one.....I still haven't used it! I'd say look thru the recipes, see if they're things you're really gonna make. If not, get something you're really gonna use that will not waste up valuable cabinet space

Re: Cooking Brides..
I LOVE MINE!! We make stew, pot roast, chicken cacciatore like things, sauce, whole chickens, pea soup... I've even baked pumpkin bread in it! AND they are perfect for holiday get togethers. We use them to keep mashed potatoes, veggies, stuffing warm. It helps not having to time everything so close together.
