NWR: Do you already know before your Wedding Day that you might have problems conceiving?
I know this can be a very personal question so don't worry if you don't feel comfortable answering...But I was wondering if there is Anyone out here like myself that is diagnosed with Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome or a similar diagnose? Granted I have a 12 year old daughter however I since have had many health issues that have come up and I found out that I have PCOS as well as a few other infertility issues. Is anyone else going through this? Have you started to see a specialist yet? Just wanted to see if I was alone on this one..

yes. I've been having problems with my cycle forever. I have PCOS and they told me when I'm ready to start trying they will help me from the start. As of now, I don't ovulate on my own.

i dont have a diagnosed condition but i have felt for years that i will have trouble having kids bc of some procedures I had a few years back. My mom says I am being paranoid but its this feeling I always get and it terrifies me. Hopefully its just in my head but we'll see when the time comes.

nothing i know of now. the dr's thought i have endometriosis but a few years back then finally did a laparoscopy to check and i did not. but at that point when they said it can make it harder and sometimes impossible i certainly freaked out. it is definitely something crosses my mind, i feel like most women just assume it will happen, just you just never know.

Re: NWR: Do you already know before your Wedding Day that you might have problems conceiving?
I've had endometriosis since I was 14 or 15... diagnosed at 18 and had surgery twice. I've also been on every BC imaginable and Lupron for years beyond the recommendation (shuts down your ovaries so you don't ovulate, sends you into pseudo menopause... did that TWICE)... so I've been told by a few MD's it's a possibility that I may have problems TTC, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I've also been told it may not be a problem at allRight now I need to enjoy FH and the wedding and a little maried life before I worry about it... what's meant to be will be and I promised that I wouldn't spend 92874928449387 dollars trying to make something happen that God doesn't seem to want. I'll use a little help if it comes to that but I'm not gonna go crazy.
I will say though that after so many years of being afraid of getting pregnant young or before i'm married or while I'm in school and being so diligent with extra contraception (condoms, gels etc) so that I don't get pregnant before I get married, I'll be VERY upset if I can't conceive when I TRY to.
I'm trying to convince FH to adopt an Asian baby with me cause I love them but he says no, lol.
But anyway chica, you have to wait to see what happens. Enjoy your wedding first! Go crazy TTC when this madness is over.

I have PCOS, was diagnosed at 15, have had several surgeries and seen a ton of specialists. I was diagnosed with infertility before the wedding and it's something my husband and I have talked about at length.
A month and a half ago I underwent 3 additional surgical procedures where everything that could have gone wrong did and I'm still being watched pretty closely. I also recently found out that my left ovary may be showing signs of cancer and I'm still waiting to see an oncologist.
Knowing that I may need to have one or more ovaries removed at a young age, and not knowing how fertile I am to begin with is the reason we changed plans and recently started TTC. We kept all this so quiet but I recently came to this point of acceptance and I don't give a rats a s s who knows anymore.
It's hard and it's emotionally wrenching with this stupid disorder. It affects so much, for months before the wedding I did weight watchers and worked out twice a day and gained 30 pounds. Later I found out that I'm insulin resistant and they put me on diabetes drugs and I lost 16 lbs in the first week and a half and I no longer fall asleep after eating.
If you ever need to talk or want the name of my reproductive endocrinologist who specializes in PCOS FM me.
Remember that PCOS often leads to infertility but not always and there are treatments (I know someone with PCOS who got preggo with twin boys on the first try with IVF and is due in March) and there are other success stories as well.

I hope it wasn't out of line my bringing up this topic but it's already causing stress. FH is so wonderful with my daughter but I can sense he really would like to have more one day.I guess I am just having a day.

All I want is to make our lives complete. I guess with everything I have had going on lately I am getting kind-of depressed. Sorry Ladies

You don't need to be sorry. I think it's a good topic, and it's on your mind, so that's ok. Just don't drive yourself crazy about THIS right now on top of everything else. I know how it feels though when it's one thing after another so yoy start thinking about everything that could ****.
Dont' worry. Everything will work our for you!

I don't think it's out of line, have you seen the stuff that gets discussed here?
LIFamilies.com has a board for infertility where a lot of the gals are suffering from PCOS. I see it come up frequently on that board and also on the TTC board.

I have Stage IV endo and have had to have part of each ovary removed. We haven't started TTC yet, but know that the odds are not in our favor. It's definitely a frustrating situation, but not one we can control.

Re: NWR: Do you already know before your Wedding Day that you might have problems conceiving?
I dont have any known conditions, but my twin sister had trouble getting pregnant so it is in the back of my mind. Plus, the fact that I am 35 and will be 36 when we start trying. Not to say, thats old, but I know your chances decrease. I have a very close relationship with my niece and love her like a daughter so god forbid down the road, I couldnt get pregnant, I feel she is and will be the closest thing to a daughter!! I will cross that bridge when I come to it!

i don't have any known conditions, but i did get pregnant accidentally last year and i had a miscarriage...so that really freaked me out that that could happen again. it all happened so fast that i didn't really have to grieve or anything, but i'm worried about the future.

I was told at 14 that I probably will never have kids. I have major problems with my period but they have never really stated a diagnosis. Its breaks my heart that I will never have my own children. We have started looking at our options with adoption. Also I have 2 of my students that I am their guardian if anything happens to their parents. I think about this topic daily.
