i think dogs look cuter with the flappy ears anyways! i would never do that! i hate on some dogs they chop the tail off! i dont get the point

what's the point of cropping the ears??? I didn't even know that's something that people do????

and I agree 100% about animals in shelters. I know some people have a love for a certain breed, but both of our cats are rescues and are the best pets I've ever had!!!

The cropping the ears I hear you...thats to sad. I feel bad for the dog. Why do people do that?

But paying for a dog.. if you know what you want you know what you want, and if you want it as a puppy its safer and better to buy it from a breeder then from a pet store or puppy mill. Not everyone wants to adopt a free dog. If you buy a dog from a good breeder you pay more but you know exactly where the dog comes from. You also get to bring the dog up your way. I don't think you can fault someone for spending money on a dog rather then adopting one.

I agree with you on the second part.. if you do want a pure breed its better to go to a breeder than a puppy mill. Im not even really venting about paying for the dog bc like you said if you know what you want you know what you want... but the ear thing made me almost cry.

ETA: The part about paying for the dog comes more from my background with this person.. for as long as we have been friends she has been 'broke' so I just think spending that much on a dog can not be justified when you claimyou are broke for the past 2 years.

Yeah ok, that I can see. If she is always complaining about being broke then buying a pure bred is probably stupid. We are spending a whole bunch on our puppy and probably shouldn't be. But DH sold a motor and its just about covering her. Of course it could buy us bedroom furniture but we decided we would rather put off bedroom furniture and buy the cute puppy. Yeah were crazy. I spent months researching breeders.

I hate people who have their dogs' ears docked. To me, it looks stupid and it's mean and a lot of the times the original docking doesn't even work so the dogs have to go in for multiple surgeries. We have a boxer and they're another breed a lot of owners do that too...I think it makes them look so tough. My dog is such a mush! I would never do that to him!

Certain types of breeds they clip the ears to make them stand straight up. She is getting a doberman and instead of having floppy ears they will cut off half of the ear cartlidge so that the ears stick up.. I think that if the ears were meant to stick up they would have been born that way.

Alot of show dogs get this done but she is not going to have this dog be a show dog.

Also she called 10 places today.. all but one told her they will not do it because it DOES hurt the dog. One place said they would do it for $500 but that the dog is too young for pain killers .. and yet she is still considering it!!

they need stitches and cone thing afterwards and its just mean and horrible...IMO

Thats horrible, especially if the dog is a pet and not even being showed. Its sad if it hurts the dog.

My dog naturally has stand up ears, but when we picked her the one ear hadn't come up yet. If she turns out to be a half up, half down eared dog, so be it. Though I hope it comes up.

Leysa you just said exactly what Kerri would have said and it made me miss her so much. And I'm so sad about this poor puppy. What an asss this girl is. Someone should clip her fuckinng ears.

I dont care if any one judges me, but thats like cutting off your babys ears because they stick out too much...that disgusts me a little
