changed our favor yet again...what do you think?

I already posted about this once before. We're already going to have party horns with favor tags (in album) as well as pastry boxes for guests to take their fav dessert from vienesse hour home. My mom is insisting on something more than the party horn because that's too 'cheap' (oh mom, haha)

I thought of this:

When the band announces that the guests to go the other room for the Viennese hour, the wait staff will bring the pastry boxes out on the tables. The pastry boxes will be assembled and tied with a ribbon with a little note that says 'open now'. Inside we'll have the fortune cookie (which will have some cute personalized new years fortune) with a note underneath or glued to the inside top of the box saying 'feel free to add your favorite dessert to go'.

What do you think?

They gave those out on the tables at the wedding we went to in Virginia two weeks ago. Very delicious cookies!

They were on the table when we sat down and we were all so hungry from the lack of food at the CH that we all ate them right away lol.

Inside they only seemed to have 4 different things... mine said the B&G's names and date; another said 'you will catch the bouquet' -- for some reason two of the guys at our table said that.

I think it would've been nice if they were even nicer things written in them. As it was, we just left the fortunes in the bread basket.

You're saying it'd be nice if the messages varied more, right? There's one website I found that allows up to 3 messages. Another website charges you a set $35 per message, how annoying is that?!

Either more varied or nicer kinda... like more of a 'Thank you for being here' than 'you will catch the bouquet' -- you could put things like 'Love and luck the whole year! Happy 2010!' or '2010 will be filled with love since you shared our special day with us' (I don't know if that's too long)...

They were really yummy, though, and I'm sure everyone will like them!

ahhh gotcha. Yeah we were thinking of definitely making the fortune something related to the new year.. that will make this the tie in with the new years theme

Oh yeah that never even crossed my mind! Def. a good decision to nix it then!
