name change/flying/annoyance

I'm all confused now. I have heard horror stories about them giving you a hard time with names not matching on passports, licenses...we are going in february and I'm just hoping this is not a pain the neck.

1) do i have to wait for my marriage cert to go change names?

2) where do you go to change your passport?

3) how long did you have to wait for your new materials from the DMV and SS office?

I cannot answer 3 yet but ...

1. Yes

2. The post office

I am going to do all of this stuff the day after Thanksgiving ... you should get your new passport/IDs well in advance of Feb if you do it now!

1. yes you need the marriage certificate
2. I think you have to go back to the post office (I still need to do this)
3. DMV and SS both gave me receipts and notices that had my new name so technically same day I had temporary paperwork and then it took like 2 weeks to get my new license and SSC

you need your marriage licence to change your license and ssc...
as far a passport, i havent done it yet, but i gotta get on it soon cuz im going on a cruise and will need it this summer! here is a link on how to change your passport!

If you didnt book yet just book in your maiden name. I flew to FL and used my old license.....

it doesnt matter which name you use as long as the ticket matches the ID.

yes it was very quick, i ordered an extra marriage cert bc i didnt want to send them original bc i framed it ahhahaha

I had my new social secutity card in two weeks. I have not changed my licence or passport yet so I am not sure how long it will take but the passport info should be on the passport website.
You can order the ticket in your madien name and wait to change you name until after the trip if you are really worried...then all of you documents will match.
