When to send out Save the Dates
Hi Ladies - I am getting married 5/28/11 and it's a holiday weekend.I've heard different things about when to send out the save the dates - one is that I should send them them our earlier since it is a holiday weekend and I don't want people to make vaca plans and miss my wedding
Anyway - I'm not even 100% sure as to when I would send them out have I not be getting married on a holiday weekend.
Anyway - ideas/thoughts are much appreciated.
Also - any reccos for a save the date would be great. I know the magnet idea is practical but I'm definitely open to other ideas.
Thanks!

Re: When to send out Save the Dates
Well I did magents from Vistaprint.com because i felt they had the best deal (I actually wound up savings about $90 ordering when I did).I am planning on sending them about when I am at the year mark. I think sending them a year in advance is fine for a Holiday Weekend wedding.

Re: When to send out Save the Dates
I think a year in advance is okay for a wedding on a holiday weekend. (but no earlier than that)Not sure though.... I'm getting married on a holiday weekend too, so I would love to know what others think too.

Re: When to send out Save the Dates
I hear mostly a year for holiday weekend (I would prolly do a year if it's a weekDAY wedding as well) and anywhere from a year to 10 months out for a regular date.Mine's on a regular non-holiday Saturday, so I'm going to do them just after Thanksgiving 2010, I think.

I have not booked a photog yet but I see you are using Patken and they are on my list of photogs to look into - thanks for letting me know they are doing your STD's.
Thanks ladies for the reccos!!!

Re: When to send out Save the Dates
I am getting married on a friday night on MLK weekend so i will be sending mine out by the end of the this year. I would say 1 year in advance without a doubt. Like you said you dont want people to make vacation plans for your wedding weekend

Re: When to send out Save the Dates
Usually girls send save the dates out anywhere from 1 year to 8 months before your wedding. We have a lot of OOT family so we will probably send them out closer to the 1 year mark.

Re: When to send out Save the Dates
the proper time line for STD are 1 year ... but since your getting married on a holiday weekend you might want to send out earlier. Def check our vistaprint or magnetstreet those are always great sites to get STD

Re: When to send out Save the Dates
I'm getting married the same weekend! I plan on sending mine out a year ahead so people can realize it's a holiday and not make other plans for the next memorial day. I am only sending them to family and very close friends (those in the bridal party), not to everyone I intend on inviting. I will likely use either vistaprint or 123print for mine since they are so cheap.

Re: When to send out Save the Dates
Yeah definetly a year in advance!! Gives your guess enough time to plan, especially if you have family from out of town!

Thanks ladies for the reccos!!!
We're getting married the same week as you but on Thursday, so I'm sending them a little over a year before. I figured a year from when we're going to send the invites so March-ish. We booked Patken & they did out E-Pics & here's our STD from them & all of our E-pics are in my album

Re: When to send out Save the Dates
If I am sending STDs, I'm not doing them until Jan/Feb 2010. I am having a small wedding (>80ppl) and few out of towners.
