I am so stressed - I am having panic attacks

Ladies,
I'm getting so anxious and stressed about my Wedding in 7 months.. I haven't sent out my save-the-date yet and i have them sitting in a box, because i've been so busy with my new promotion at work that i have to take classes for....

I am working more hrs now than before because of the new promo and i am so tired on the weekends that i can barely do anything...

Sorry I really need to rant, no one really understand this entire process.

I am trying to look into my programs but I am not sure the order of things... and my guest list is growing bc my FH feels like he has to invite everyone he thinks he knows within the past year.....

Is anyone experiencing being so overwhelmed?

Try your best to take some relaxation time from everything.

Yup I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel like I have everything under control and things are coming along and other times I feel so overwhelmed.... Just take a deep breath, make a list of things you have to do and take it one thing at a time. It will all come together in the end! Maybe you can get a few STDs ready (put together, addressed, etc) every night and have them sent out next week??

Definitely! I actually went to the doctory on Friday and had them do an EKG. I am probably the furthest thing from a hypochondriac but I've been so stressed lately, I think my breathing has become irregular. The doctor said sometimes you can be so stressed you actually forget to breathe. Between work, wedding plans and just buying a home I am stressed to the max.

Just try taking deep breaths and giving yourself at least a half-hour a day doing something totally mindless and relaxing. For instance, I'm watching DVR-ed episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8 right now. Haha.

This whole process can be so overwhelming. There is so much pressure to make our wedding days absolutely perfect. I find taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture has been helping me.

Have you considered hiring a wedding coordinator or a day of coordinator? I had one and it relieved so much of the stress.
She was more than just our wedding planner, she was our negotiator, project manager, shrink and the voice of reason.

The though has crossed my mind but to be honest I'm worried about the expense. Was the person you used super expensive? Could you FM her information?

I totally hear you! Im 9months away.. and i feel like if I dont do it...its never going to happen. Im also in nursing school... and they course load is killing me on top of the wedding planning...
and my FH keeps saying 'Everything will happen. Don't worry!' And my response is 'Of course you feel that way... because I coordinate everything!!!'
lol... its so silly when you think about it... all for a wedding... for ONE day!!! We should be celebrating that we found someone who loves us and that we love in return!

It will get better in time! Just do little pieces of your wedding each weekend and get FH and the 'rents to help!

I have been experiencing the same thing...I feel so burnt! I have FT career work in the city (2 hours door to door!), Masters classes at NYU at night, the wedding planning, and FH and I are going to contract on a house Thursday (yikes and Yay!).

Try to take a little time for yourself too Even if its a half hour to watch a show or read....it def. helps!

wow... everyone here is just a testament to how awesome and hardworking LI Brides are! I can't imagine taking classes, working and planning... but I myself am working two jobs, one is 24 hour shifts which just KILLS my nerves... and i have a tendency to just break out in tears randomly... tonight I decided that i might just explode if i have to make a decision on BM dresses... I am completely incapable!! (working on 3 hours sleep after 24 hours of working and 36 hours of staying up does not help!) FH works a lot too, but his job is about 1/4 the stress of my job and he just does not get it. 3/4 of the wedding budget will be from my savings. This whole wedding thing is a lot of pressure (I might be the only bride on here who 1-is TERRIBLE at wedding planning and 2-pretty much fears (and is starting to really dislike) any opportunity to do wedding stuff at this point because I just can't make any more decisions) Of course maybe i am overreacting because I am just over-frea king-tired right now! So, in short, I feel your pain!

Anyone want to make all the rest of the decisions for me?

I definitely can relate! I sometimes feel so tired of making decisions! Just so many! And my FH is like yours...a bit uninvolved.


We, too, have been house-hunting in the middle of all this, and yes, it is all very stressful. I am a teacher - and I feel like I have been a crappy teacher, too! Just trying to get stuff done during my free periods.

One day at a time, and let go of perfection. It's too much pressure for just one day. I read a blog where these girls were miserable after the wedding b/c all they could obsess about is all the little things that went wrong on their wedding day.

That kind of woke me up. I DO NOT want to be that kind of bride - defeats the whole purpose.

Ive found a lot of stress w/ the budgeting...trying to get nice things inside our budget. Sometimes, we just had to settle a little, but just realize it will be beautiful, even if it isn't perfect.

Try to hang in there...

you should considered asking family for help or you should hire help.. sometimes we try to save save and save...but all we end up doing is killing ourselves...
