Ceremony Time

If we're having an afternoon wedding (reception begins at 12), what time should our ceremony be at the church?

Re: Ceremony Time

i would do it as early as possible so that you have enough time for pictures in between. our CH starts at 1pm so we booked a 10:30 ceremony at our church.

Re: Ceremony Time

We are not having a mass so we are having a ceremony that starts at 11:30 and cocktail hour starts at 1. I know we will prob be a bit crunched for time, but that is how we had to do it.

Re: Ceremony Time

I guess it would depend on how close the church is to the RH as well. You should prob make it as early as possilbe so you can account for length of ceremony, pictures at church and before wedding, traffic to RH and/or pictures at RH without everyone there yet.

Re: Ceremony Time

I went to a wedding recently with a ceremony at 11 and the CH at 1. I think 2 hours is a good time if you're getting married at a different location and need time to travel. If you're doing everything at the same location a half hour before CH should be plenty of time.

Re: Ceremony Time

I would say 10am. Check with your church though; ours had set times for ceremonies - we could pick from the set times but we couldn't just pull an hour out of thin air.
