NWR: Food For Kids Benefit - FH was selected as one of their celeb chefs

Hey Friends!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that FH will be on TV next month. He was selected to participate in a great benefit and we hope you all get a chance to watch it !!!!

Here's a brief run down of what the event will consist of.

Hamptons Restaurant Event: “Food For Kids”

There is an epidemic in this country affecting the precious, the young, and the innocent: childhood obesity. Millions of children are suffering under the burden of confusing choices, overeating, and sweet tooth temptations. Over 160, 000 children will die this year from illness related to childhood obesity. This nation’s youth are experiencing an era of unprecedented weight gain only to be assaulted by serious ailments later in life. Aside from the medical and long-term threats that childhood obesity poses, many suffer the pain and humiliation of teasing and bullying.

Chef Joseph Ciminera, the chef and host of Taste This! TV, a national cooking show, has dedicated his time and energy to change the trends and make children happy and healthy. After spending 2 years of dedicated research perfecting meal plans for children, Chef Joe has created Food for Kids- an easy 7 day plan for families and children to eat healthy. Food for Kids offers effective techniques to preparing and providing easy-to-make nutritious food options for children across America.

In support of “Food for Kids”, Chef Joe is holding a national, televised Chef’s event in the Hamptons, New York on Monday November 23, 2009. It will take place from 10am-3pm. He was selected as one of the 12 finalist chefs to participate in the event. Chefs will need to bring 1, healthy dish to feed approximately 20-30 people. He will also need plate up the entrée for camera ready purposes and it will be judged.

This is such a great and refreshing initiative. So nice that your FH is going to be a part of it. I'll def tune in.

That is awesome. What a great way for him to channel his passion into a wonderful cause!

Please make sure to remind us about it closer to the date!!! I'd set my DVR now, but it only goes forward for one week's worth of shows

Thanks girls!! I will remind everyone with a follow up post beginning of December....

FH has been working in the food industry a long time now...and currently works @ Food Network. He was so honored to be asked to be a part of such a great cause. You will see his face alot starting next year on Food Network channel too!!!...thanks for all the support girls!!
