Ex-boyfriends and weddings

ok anyone actually inviting former ex-boyfriends or guys they sorta dated but ended up just being friends with and now you feel ackward and considering inviting them to the wedding? I had 1 guy I dated who invited himself to my wedding (he's not invited!) and said he was devastated that I won't be single anymore!! lol.

Just curious what you gals have done w/ this scenario...do you include or exclude? what if they were already hitched to someone else, would you change your mind?

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

I don't talk to any of my ex-boyfriends anymore. Well ok maybe my very first boyfriend, but that was like 5th grade....and yes I'm inviting him, he's actually like a distant brother to me. But real ex-boyfriends, nope.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

In my book, ex is a big no-no, with the exception being if you are truly JUST the best of friends. If you're just slightly friends or acquaintances, I say no. On your wedding day (AND FH's day too, remember that) no one should be in the audience that brings any memories of love past, jmo.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

I only talk to one of my ex's and we dated when we were like 13, so yes he will be invited because he is more like a brother to me now..

But as far as serious ex;s NO WAY! lol

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

My 9th grade bf became one of my best friends ever, so he was invited. He's friends with my DH now too. Any recent boyfriends, definitely NOT!

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

I agree with both ladies above.

I want a marriage not a Jerry Springer episode or potential argument in the future for real bf....... if my FH did that to me, I WOULD BE PISSED... so my answer is NO for past serious relationships

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

Well first of all im surprised this post even exist..lol
I dont talk to any of my ex's, that were recent resulting in Grown people LOVE... so they could NEVER assume they would be invited to a wedding of mine. Then making comments that -he's upset that you wont be single anymore! Wow!

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

Im being forced to invite one of my exes....he's my future brother in law. Its not really that awkward bc we decided that we're better off as friends and we've been friends since...but its still kind of meh. The FH thinks its funny.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

yeah this post is mostly food for thought..I'm not inviting any ex'es or guys I just had casual flings with, or anyone I seriously viewed romantically..

.I know 1 friend who invited someone she did dated years ago but they became friends and he also got married and invited her to his wedding, and she did the same...and of course, you have the guys you thought you were crazy about but turned out to be gay, so FH isn't threatened at all..

Hello say it again!

If my husband did that to me I would be pissed too! The day is about u and your future , not a person from the past. Especially with the ex Looking at you from the audience-wishing it was him up there//smiling in your soon to be husbands face... lol

No way no how. Maybe an ex-fling? Even that FH doesn't like, but too bad.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

I invited one. Years ago we were best friends, then we dated for two months and went back to being best friends. He's 3000 miles away now but still one of my closest friends. DH felt funny about it until he met him when we visited California and he saying he was his favorite friend of mine and he wished he could have made the wedding.
