Sun/Moon Palace in Cancun
Hi everyone,I was wondering if anyone has stayed at either of these resorts in Cancun. My FI and I are very excited about going there for our HM, but we can't decide between the two. Any feedback????

Re: Sun/Moon Palace in Cancun
I have not stayed there in my trip to cancun. I stayed in the carribean village and it was AWESOME. We were there 3 years ago for spring break and had a blast. (FI's been to Mexico a few times). The resort was all inclusive and we didnt stop drinking from the moment we arrived. The staff there was so friendly. By the pool everyday their was a BBQ with lots of burgers and hot dogs, beach volleyball, and everywhere you went their was a bar. When you are sitting around the pool a guy comes around with a tray of fruit and if you want a drink he'll get it for you.
I loved that place. If I ever go back it will be to that hotel or FI's favorite hotel the Melia Turquisa.
I love Cancun. I would go back in a heart beat. Great beaches, great shopping and fun excursions.

I went to the moon palace in 00 and it was ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!!! I wanted so badly to go back for our HM but FI wanted someplace different. The moon palace is about 45 minutes from the heart of cancun town, but it had everything we needed and we didn't leave the resort the whole week. The food is great - the people are super friendly. A++++ !!

Re: Sun/Moon Palace in Cancun
Never been to either 2 but we stayed at the Oasis and it was GREAT!! FI actually wanted to go HM there but I refuse to go back to the same place twice. Too much out there to see. The oasis is one of the largest hotels on the strip. It has a very Vegas feel. It is one LARGE strip. Once you're off you are in downtown Cancun which is less desireable. It is very safe at night. You can walk ANYWHERE AT ANYTIME. You HAVE to got to Xcaret which is a natural park, Do the booze cruise to Isla Mujeres and while you are on that Island SHOP!!!! Definetly swim with the Dolphins. We also went jet skiing at Water World and did a Water Jungle Tour. We snorkeled alot and went clubbing every night. Have fun, Cancun was amazing!!!!

DH and I were in Cancun last year and stayed at the Melia Terquisa. We found it to be one of the nicest on the strip! It was all inclusive...awesome grounds and really nice.

Re: Sun/Moon Palace in Cancun
We stayed at the MP in 2001 & LOVED IT!!! Would return in a NY minute!!!there are free shuttle buses going to the strip from like noon til 8 or 9pm. & I think if you stay 3 days you get 1 free tour, 4 or more days 2 free tours. Definitely do the Isla Mujeres tour it was off the hook!! We liked Chichen Itza tour too but skip the laser light show. Any Qs feel free to ask.
Food/drinks/service were great!! They'll bring your food/drink right to your chair by the beautiful huge pool!!! You'll love it! :) Only about 15 min from airport too!

oh yeah we ate at the Sun at their italian restaurant - the veggie lasagna was soo good I was pleasantly surprised. One difference between Sun & Moon: Sun is an adults only resort & Moon caters to families, but the kids didn't bother us while we were there.

Re: Sun/Moon Palace in Cancun
I went last summer with FH to the Moon Palace and it was amazing. We also went for massages at the Spa palace and that was really nice also. The moon palace is closer to the town so we were able to hop on the shuttle and just go into town.Welcome New Vendors
