Re: WAYS TO ASK BRIDAL PARTY TO BE A PART OF OUR WEDDING

I'm taking my girls out to lunch and getting them each one of these cookies. They're $10 each but I think they're so adorable!

Re: WAYS TO ASK BRIDAL PARTY TO BE A PART OF OUR WEDDING

One bride sent me a small bouquet of flowers with her wedding colors and the card said 'will you be my bridesmaid?' It was super cute!

Re: WAYS TO ASK BRIDAL PARTY TO BE A PART OF OUR WEDDING

you can try to make the puzzles yourself. Michael's has blank rectangular ones.

I'm making cards for my girls and giving it to them over some type of meal. (weird i know lol)

i know someone on here took them all out to dinner and had a singing telegram guy come and asked them.

Re: WAYS TO ASK BRIDAL PARTY TO BE A PART OF OUR WEDDING

thnx! i didnt know u could do ur own puzzles through the craft store...i found them through puzzlematic.com

i think alot of girls go the route of doin cards, it is a nice personal way to ask, i just wanted to do something different...

telegram?thats crazy! talk about putting them on the spot, what if they said no? or they said yes under obligation and than u found out later...idk..too risky! and i was afraid of putting them on the spot by asking at the E-party. lol

Re: WAYS TO ASK BRIDAL PARTY TO BE A PART OF OUR WEDDING

those are really cute...and 10$/piece isnt all that bad...the giant fortune cookies i was thinking f are about $20-$30/ea. the edible ones are more expensive then the keepsake ones...idk why!

Do u think its impersonal for me to ask at the engagement party?

Re: WAYS TO ASK BRIDAL PARTY TO BE A PART OF OUR WEDDING

My best friend sent me a picture frame that held 4 photos. The first two photos were images of us in college. The third photo contained scrapbook pieces of a bride and bridesmaid, with the caption 'picture to come, 8/30/08.' The last frame held a little poem that ended with 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' I was so unbelieveably touched by the effort she went into making it, and i still display it in our living room.

I've also heard of people doing customized 'message in a bottles' Pretty cool for a beach themed wedding!

Re: WAYS TO ASK BRIDAL PARTY TO BE A PART OF OUR WEDDING

For my MOH, I had inserted scrapbook paper and printed her name and the poem below into a BRIDES magazine. Then, I asked her if she wanted to looked through the magazine for wedding gowns with me. When she turned to the page, her mouth dropped. She started crying. :)

Nothing would gives us
more joy and more pride
Than to have you there
Walking by our side
Will you be my Maid of Honor?

At my engagement party, I asked my FSIL (who was getting married a few weeks later). My brother (her DH) is going to be in the party as well. So, we framed a similar poem to the above one and told them that we had a present for them b/c we figured they were under a lot of stress with the wedding lately. It was a poem similar to the above one in a picture frame. They were very surprised and touched. :)

Then, I asked my FH's sister. She was 8 months pregnant at the time, so I got her a cheap photo album (8 pages for photos- 1.50 in Michaels). I wrote a poem specifically for her and put a line on each page. She was so touched and couldn't believe how sneaky I was about how I asked her, hehe. :)

In just a few short months your new baby boy will change your whole life.
And in one quick year, your brother will say 'I do!' to his brand new wife.
Your new baby boy will require much love and good care…
Most times, you will realize you don’t have a moment to spare!
But even though this new baby will leave you with no time for play…
We really do hope that you can stand by us on our wedding day.
Gabriella, will you be in our wedding party?

Lastly, I asked my two cousins (sisters) together. I did the same thing as I did for the first bridesmad, but asked them if they wanted to see a picture of my dress. So they were all excited! I turned to the page before and said, 'What do you think of this dress?' So they were like, 'Oh, it's so pretty!' Then, I turned to the next page (One poem on each side) and said...'Or how about this one?' They read and then started yelling, 'Of course, of course!!!'

Definitely personalize it. These women are going to be in your wedding party, so they are obviously the most important women in your life. Show them just how special they are to you.
